Turn your sound on for this one! 🚂 🔊
The world’s largest steam locomotive rolled right through our backyard, and the video does it way more justice than any photo could. Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014 came through Valparaiso and Argos, and now you can finally hear what 1.2 million pounds of steam and steel sounds like coming down the tracks.
This was the first time Big Boy has ever steamed into Indiana, part of its coast-to-coast tour for America’s 250th birthday. It is one of only eight left in the world and the only one still running. Built in Schenectady, New York back in 1941 and brought back to life in 2019, she has been drawing crowds clear across the country.
