Fire Captain Chuck Gordils left on Saturday, joining 24 other first responders recently chosen by the Emergency Volunteer Project (EVP), a nonprofit organization based in the U.S.Martin County Captain Gordils is now in Israel, serving first responders and civilians caught in the middle of war.
He'll be gone for at least 2 weeks, and will assist in firefighting, search & rescue/ recovery, medical treatment and more.
On a more personal level, Captain Gordils is my station captain on a Ladder truck at Station 14 (AKA The Kraken) Please pray for him and all the others volunteering selflessly while they are over there. I have had the opportunity to work with this fella for many years, and he is one of the best. I pray for his safe return back home to his wife, kids and 10 grandchildren. If you know him or not, please share. More prayers the better.
