for a while i stepped away from freelance photography and worked in tv news as a videographer/director.

news teaches you something quickly: you often show up on people’s worst days. fires, shootings, loss and so many moments no one ever expected to live through.

so when i came back to photography, something felt different. i realized how sacred the moments i get to capture really are: weddings, engagements, families, the quiet joy of everyday life.

after spending time documenting some of life’s hardest moments, it feels like a privilege to now document the beautiful ones.

and i carry that perspective with me every time i pick up my camera, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to live the dream my heart has carried for a long, long time 🤍

i’m usually the one taking the photo.

my camera roll is 90% my baby and 10% one handed mirror pictures where i’m half in the frame trying to hold onto the moment before it passes.

and i love those photos.

but there’s something different about being fully present. not rushed. not cropped. not just proof that i was there but a memory i can actually feel ♥️

it’s easy to wait until you feel more rested or more like yourself again.

but this season doesn’t wait.
