I met Young Quicks over 15 years ago when he approached me to do some graphics for his album. He was just a kid at the time, but he had a hustle and drive that inspired everyone around him. We have a lot of history and the story is still being told. I was given the opportunity to work on this project. History repeats, and I can say we both have grown over the years. Keep that hustle drive coming YQ. Here’s to the future and cheers for the history. 🍻 #805

July 21st • The Ceviche Chow Down!
Last year was an awesome sold out event. This year we have more restaurants, more wine, and more beer. Freddy and Friends will be performing, so you can get on the dance floor to burn off all the delicious ceviche, beer and wine you endulge in.

The Ceviche Chow Down is a food and music festival on July 16th 2023 at the Historical Olivas Adobe in Ventura Ca. Music by Kyle Smith, hosted by Mission FISH.

Outdoor portraits with natural light are fun to shoot, framing the shot to utilize the sun's light and the coastal breeze can create some nice inviting shots. Happy 45th Birthday Arlene, it was fun shooting with you.

Yesterday was so rewarding. The Ceviche Chow Down was an absolute blast, and better than I had imagined. A handful of Volunteers with a vision pulled together and help raise funds for Mission FISH and also hosted a party with delicious seafood. I enjoyed every cup of Ceviche that our generous sponsors provided, in between shooting video clips. So here is the highlight reel!

Daniel Mcfarlane also known as Danjo and I have been friends for over 30 years. He hit me up for a "Flash Party" event flyer for his Tattoo Shop JD's in Ventura California. JD'S Art Studio & Tattoo Shop. I had to put Danjo on the ribbon on the Sacred Heart flash graphic, did anyone notice?

Workflow Tips:
I laid out the design in Adobe Illustrator, using layers, then imported the Illustrator file as a Composition in Adobe After Effects. From there first thing was to animate the rose, so it appears to be filled with color. Using animated masks and layers to reveal the color of each portion of the rose I was able to make a wipe that looks as if the rose is being painted. From there a 3D Camera was added and animated so it moved towards the graphics. I put each layer at a different distance from the camera so it would give a depth of field look as the camera moves back and forth. Im stoked at the results, simple, classic and the message is easy to read, plus the graphic can be used for print straight out of Illustrator or unanimated where needed. When designing for Social Media specifically instagram and facebook, I first create a layout in either Illustrator or Photoshop that has both Story and Post size guide lines, so that the finished product can easily be rendered in both Story or Post sizes without having to re-size later in the workflow. Working in Illustrator for the layout also allows for editing, or repurposing the design easily and After Effects updates the changes from the Illustrator file without having to make graphic or text changes in After Effects.
