😊 I am always trying to think of ways to more effectively and efficiently serve my clients!

📷 On my last personal branding session. There was a shot that needed more light, and I’m not talking the type of lighting only a flash could provide (because there are scenarios where a flash would be needed) however this wasn’t the case I simply needed more light so I pull out my flash that I placed new batteries in the night before and new batteries in the remote and tested with my camera before packing my gear. I did all of the right things and yet when it came time to use it that flash would not go off for some reason.

We made it work and got the shot using some improvising! Don’t worry. But it took longer than I wanted and your time is valuable! I want things to be easy and smooth for my clients when working with me.

I’m excited to add this to my toolbox 🧰 and have a quick lighting solution when needed!

I don’t just show up. I plan with purpose. 🫡

🗺️ When I location scout, I record myself and the space so I can fully map out your session, especially for surprise proposals and elopements where timing and positioning matter most.

I note spots where you could pop the question or say your vows, where the best photo locations are, and where I need to stand to capture it all without giving anything away. I bring my camera to test different lenses, pay attention to north/south/east/west, and whenever possible I scout close to your session time to understand the light. When that’s not possible, sun tracking and direction knowledge make all the difference.

Other sessions give us more freedom to go with the flow but these moments deserve intention so that we can relax day of because things were thought of already! I care deeply about your experience and making sure your story is captured beautifully, thoughtfully, and seamlessly.

During your sessions I never want to be in a rush I always want us to enjoy the journey! Planning ahead allows us to do so in these more complex session types!

I love Sea to Summit Charcuterie! They do such an amazing job every time. Yes, they’ve got limited indoor seating and lots of outdoor space — but with winter coming, please do NOT write them off. The inside is intimate, cozy, and totally worth snagging a spot. And even if there’s no room, I happily grab my favorites to go. The hummus plate and the soft pretzel (always with extra cheese!) never miss. 🥨

I’ve always dreamed of traveling somewhere far away to see the northern lights. The Aurora Borealis has been on my lifetime must see list for as long as I can remember. Never did I think I’d witness them from my own backyard in Washington… but last year, that’s exactly what happened.

Did I get any epic photos? Honestly, no. I grabbed a couple quick videos and chose to just be present first with the people I was with, then alone after they went to bed, just standing with my neck unaturally bent backwards to look up at the sky. I knew I had work the next morning and Setting up my camera just wasn’t in the cards.

But as Patrick Star says “tomorrow for sure”! Whether it finds me again at home or through travel I’ll be ready to capture those ellusive dancing lights.
