Out here in the desert, where the only lights are from the stars above, the universe feels wide open. No traffic. No noise. No light pollution—just pure, uninterrupted wonder. 🌌

On the banks of the Yampa River, I looked up and felt like I could see into the heavens. The Milky Way stretched across the sky like a whispered promise that there’s more to this life than we can grasp.

Sometimes all we need is to get far enough away to see clearly.

Another view of Flaming Gorge—and it just keeps getting better. 🌊🏞️

This high-country reservoir on the Utah-Wyoming border stretches for miles, carving its way through cliffs and forests with dramatic curves and deep blue waters. You can spot the bridge in the distance—one of the few crossings over this vast expanse.

From up here, you can see the bridge in the distance.

Flaming Gorge isn’t just a destination—it’s a reminder of how wild and beautiful the West still is.

The mighty Green River, winding its way through Dinosaur National Monument. 🌊🦖
This river begins high in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming, carves through the dramatic canyons of Utah and Colorado, and eventually joins the Colorado River just above Cataract Canyon—right outside of Moab.
The landscape around it is a geologist’s dream: layers upon layers of time exposed in colorful bands, revealing hundreds of millions of years of Earth’s history. These rocks hold stories of ancient oceans, shifting continents, and the fossils of creatures long gone.
It was along this river in 1869 that John Wesley Powell led his legendary expedition—one-armed, undaunted, and determined to map the uncharted West. His journey through these very canyons marked a turning point in American exploration.
When you’re standing on its banks, you feel it—that deep sense of time, of story, of wonder.

🌄 Up, up, and away… ✈️

Wheels up from Salt Lake City, heading home with a heart full of gratitude and a few river blisters to prove it. Just wrapped up an unforgettable 4-day rafting trip through Dinosaur National Monument — where the rapids were wild, the stars were endless, and the WiFi was gloriously nonexistent. 🛶🌌
