The story starts with two. 🤍

Two people choosing each other.
Building a home and then a family.
Then a whole little world that didn’t exist before them.

And somewhere along the way, it gets loud 😂

Someone’s crying. Someone needs a snack. Someone refuses to wear the shoes you picked out. You’re fixing hair, wiping faces, chasing toddlers and wondering if we got one single good photo😂

But that’s the funny thing about this season…

When you’re living it, it can feel like chaos.

But someday, you’ll look at these photographs and realize:

This was the life you were building and it was worth every long night and sacrifice along the way.

These little people.

This is your legacy.

It started with the two of you.

And now look at everything you’ve made 🥹

You don’t need a perfectly behaved family to document this season.

You just need your family, exactly as they are right now🤍

There’s something so special about the first family photos after the newborn photos🥹

Because suddenly, that tiny baby you were just learning how to hold is looking at you. Smiling. Sitting up. Showing you exactly who they are.

Last November, I got to photograph this sweet family in that in-between season…past the newborn haze, but still so very much in the baby days.

And I swear, this is when you really start to see it:

How much they’ve changed.
How much you’ve changed.
How quickly it’s all going.

The newborn photos will always remind you how it all began.

But these start to tell the story of who your family is becoming 🤍

And that’s exactly why I’ll never stop telling you to take the photos.

And maybe even:
“I came here because I wanted YOU to photograph my family.”

Fair.

So let me tell you why I trust this woman with something as important as your family photos.

Jenna and I have been working together since 2020.

She actually started as one of my branding clients, then became my go-to wedding second shooter, then my associate photographer, and eventually the person I trusted behind the scenes editing my work.

For six years, she has photographed beside me.

She knows how I work. She knows what I look for. She knows that I don’t care if your toddler is “cooperating” or everyone is looking at the camera.

Because the goal isn’t perfect.

It’s your family, exactly as they are right now.

Jenna isn’t there to imitate me.

She’s an incredibly talented photographer in her own right who happens to share the same philosophy I’ve built Liv in the Moment around:
Real connection.
Movement.
Feeling.
The stuff you’ll actually miss.

And when I decided to grow this little family photography dream of mine, there was genuinely only one person I wanted beside me.

Fall Family Sessions have officially been open for one day and 18 of our 34 available session dates are already gone.

HALF. THE. CALENDAR.

And we are literally just hours in.

I knew you guys were excited for these, but seeing the calendar fill up this quickly has me 🥹

So here’s my little nudge if you’ve been looking at the dates thinking I’ll book later.

Later is officially risky.

Because once your perfect date is gone, it’s gone.

There aren’t secret weekends I’m holding back.

There isn’t another giant batch of fall dates coming.

And I don’t want you emailing me in September asking if I can pretty please squeeze you in when the answer is genuinely going to have to be no (listen, I’m halfway through this pregnancy and the energy is limited 😂)

Go grab the date you actually want while it’s still there.

One day, these little hands will be bigger 🥹

And I promise you—your kids are going to LOVE sitting on the couch, flipping through these pages, pointing at themselves and asking you to tell them the stories.

“Was I really that little?”

“Did I always make that face?”

“Look, Mama! That’s us.”

That’s why I believe so deeply in heirloom albums.

Because a gallery lives on your phone.

But an album lives in your home.

It gets pulled off the shelf. Tiny fingerprints end up on the pages. Stories get told over and over again.

And eventually, it becomes theirs. 🤍

Your family photos shouldn’t just be saved. They should be held.

Six years of working side by side, and somehow this is my favorite photoshoot we’ve ever done together🥹

Kelly has been my makeup artist for the last six years. She’s helped me take care of SO many women through some of the biggest, most vulnerable, most exciting seasons of their lives.

And now I got to photograph hers😭

Watching her become a mom has been the coolest thing.

To go from years of working together, laughing together, building businesses and doing life alongside each other… to standing in her home photographing her holding her own baby?

😭😭😭

I don’t even have the words.

There’s something so surreal about watching someone you’ve known for years become someone’s mama. It’s like you know them so well, and then suddenly you get to meet this whole new version of them.

And Kelly, motherhood looks so good on you🤍

Getting to document these tiny fingers and toes for you was such an honor and one of those sessions I know I’ll remember forever. I’m so happy for you and Corey and I can’t wait to watch your little man grow up to be as amazing as you both are.

I have approximately 47,000 photos of my kid on my iPhone. 😂

And I love the photos. I really do.

But there’s a difference between a photo that shows me what happened…

and a photo that takes me right back to what it FELT like.

And the biggest difference is that I’m actually in them.

Because your camera roll probably has a million photos of your kids, too.

But someday, I don’t think they’re going to care that you got thousands of picture of them.

They’re going to want the ones with you.

That’s what I want your family photos to be.

Not perfect. Not everyone smiling at the camera (necessarily).

Just your life, exactly as it feels right now. 🤍
