Four years at . I’ve always been a thrifter, but when I need something specific or new (the horror) I’ve learned to be an investor. The cost of clothing isn’t just the numbers on a tag, but the quality, materials, resell value and labor practices associated with that item.

Preachy isn’t my thing but there is so much waste in this industry and it’s up to us as consumers to drive change. Look up labor practices, materials, and buy things that will last so you can stop buying things and CNBC can write more articles about millennials killing our economy.

-

On a related note, started listening to , a podcast from - they have a few good episodes on the environmental impact of fashion that are light and not entirely too doomsday (even though this very much is🙃).

Okay wow bye!! Too much!! Environmental responsibility is cool and all but Monday is Monday amirite.

'At my best, I let my guard down. I block the instinct to feel isolated and self-conscious, letting my perception of what others think reverberate off of my body and down into the earth around me. My eyes open wider and I can stand still and feel the wind. I hold my fears steady in my chest, thankful for every bit of chaos they bring.'

Love sleeping in a tent for five days and seeing sunsets and rivers and mountains...but right now so happy to be back home in my lil Oakland kitchen with some candles and a glass of wine. All about that balance. 🙃

Skipped the beach traffic for the farmers market today and I think I came out on top. First week of tomato season 🤤 at the so I treated myself to this creation. Pan toasted bagel with brie and heirloom tomatoes (olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, garlic, basil, purple spring onion) and topped with lemon thyme. Glad I got an extra loaf from .bakery because I'm literally eating this all day. 🍅🍃⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Thursday. Sometimes I start to stress about how I'm going to allocate my free time when the weekend approaches. I have ideas in my head that need to be organized, planned for, shopped for, and I go from one errand to the next mapping how they fit together. And I do this until I laugh and land on the same thing I always land on when there are too many things.
