I’m still obsessed years later with this edit I did for my brother’s senior photos. It’s a photo I think I’m most proud of.

“Welcome to the world
I heard your heartbeat
And lost every word.
Just stood there quietly
taking in the sound
of our love.”
- e.s.

I’m obsessed. That is all.

I’m so damn grateful for these two. They’ve truly been here since the beginning.
They’ve been here since not long after I picked the camera up & I’ve gotten to be there for so many of their important life milestones.
I’ve grateful to have been by their side, and to have had them be right by my side.
It’s been so fun to watch their family grow and always an honor to capture these types of moments for people, but especially for people that I love so dearly.

These two have my heart in a way no one else ever will 🤎

No reel I ever make in the future will top this one.

Yes, I cried while making this. Yes, I cry every time I watch it

This photoshoot was a full circle moment.
✨
This is Joslyn, my best friend. I met her in 3 grade and we lived on the same street for years. She’s always been my biggest supporter.
✨
She’s really the only one who kept in contact after I had to drop out of the school district. And a year after I really started photography I was wanting to do a mentorship with an amazing photographer in town who is also a family friend. I was going to have to save up for a few more months but Joslyn gave me the rest of the money I needed.
✨
She was also the model for the first photoshoot I ever did, and like I said, has just always been my biggest supporter.
✨
So to be able to do maternity photos for her was just a dream come true and truly full circle. And now baby girl is here and I got to do newborns that I can’t wait to share. I just love this girl and her little family 🤎

“Why is she taking pictures of a wall?”
•
I was with family at Lagoon Amusement Park one time. We were sitting, chilling on some grass and I looked over and saw a brick wall with a tall metal gate around it that caught my eye.
•
I instantly saw a a picture in my mind that focused on the detail of the brick wall with some of the gate in the foreground. It was so beautiful in my mind and I just had to capture it. As I was taking my pictures two teenage boys walked by and one said to the other, “Why is she taking pictures of a wall?”
•
For some reason that memory popped into my head recently and I instantly felt grateful rather than embarrassed. Grateful that I’ve been blessed with the ability to see beauty in mundane things that people normally wouldn’t even bat an eye to. I wasn’t even embarrassed in the moment like i think we would all be when someone judges you out loud in public. I really felt sad actually, that they couldn’t see the wall in the way I was seeing it. It really does make life more beautiful to be able to see little details and appreciate and admire them for what they add to the world. Even if it is just a brick wall.

Well figuring out how to share this reel from Instagram took me longer than it needed to, but here it is on the right page, haha!
•
I’m jumping on the bandwagon with some incredible fellow photographers who started this trend.
•
Seriously though. I’m so grateful to be on this journey and it’s been so beautiful to see growth that happens with hard work, perseverance & not giving up when things get tough, you make mistakes or imposter syndrome sets it. Damn that imposter syndrome. It’s an evil beast.
•
I truly wouldn’t have come this far if it hadn’t been for loved ones that have supported me every step of the way, helping me with getting equipment, making it possible for me to do mentorships, and just cheering me on. My mama’s the one that bought me my first camera because she knew how much I had grown to love taking pictures on my phone & I couldn’t be more happy & grateful she did.
•
And I’m grateful for an incredible teacher, mentor & friend () who has also cheered me on every step of the way. Even though she is busy as hell being a boss babe she will still take time to answer my questions or give tips, especially in a crisis!
•
I also couldn’t be more grateful for those who have allowed & trusted me with taking their photos. Thank you for sticking by my side and making me a better photographer with each session. And to those of you who were here in very beginning, you’re the real ones for sticking by my side while I figured out my editing vibe (and how to use my camera on manual mode) Some of those early color edits were tragic. 😂
•
Well this turned into a sappy post that I didn’t intend it to be, but thanks need to be given to every one of you who have had a part in making this possible for me. I love you all.
