Look at that! LOOK. AT. THAT. LOOKATIT!! (Read in the voice of ) it’s so blue!! I just can’t get over how BLUE the bird is!! I have found that mountain blue birds like to spend their time near recent burns. This burn is about a year old so it was a little surprised to find it so actively inhabited with new life.

For everyone who spends a lot of time around white tails this is a very common scene. Having that doe know exactly where you are before you even know she’s there. It happens to the best of us. I’m thankful she hung around for a bit in the morning sun.
