While it is geographically located within the greater Cape Cod Bay area, Plymouth Harbor is specifically the inner body of water protected by Plymouth Beach. Historically and broadly speaking, Cape Cod Bay is also considered the southernmost extremity of Massachusetts Bay, meaning the harbor technically sits within the hierarchy of all three, though "Plymouth Bay" is the most precise designation.

These are common, large "seagulls" found across coastal North America. Juvenile American Herring Gulls display variable brown, mottled plumage and take four years to attain the full white and gray adult plumage. As they age, they become progressively lighter, with some gray appearing on the mantle by the second winter.

The Sikorsky VS-44A Excambian, the sole remaining American-built commercial trans-oceanic four-engine flying boat.

Visit charlesroy.myportfolio.com

It was one of three VS-44 flying boats built by Sikorsky for American Export Airlines for non-stop transatlantic service.

During World War II, it carried priority passengers and freight under contract to the U.S. Navy and Army.

Postwar, the actress Maureen O’Hara and her husband, Charles Blair owned and operated the Excambian through their airline, Antilles Air Boats.

After substantial restoration, the Excambian is now on display at the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
