A new season.
Some of you may have noticed that I haven't posted here in a long time. As everybody knows, the last year and a half has been a pretty strange and unpredictable time for a lot of us, and that seems to be especially true for photographers. There have been a lot of big changes over the last year and a half; a baby, a new job, and a new house. Almost all of it has been really positive, other than the obvious pandemic-induced downsides. With the new job came a decreased need to focus on the business end of my photography, and I took some time away from it to focus on the new things in my life and reorient myself with what I want to actually be doing in terms of photography.
And so, although this isn't really news, I should still actually say that I am not currently pursuing freelance work. Right now, I'm taking the time to focus on pursuing my own interests (which right now includes landscape photography; just in time for autumn) and to hone my skills. I may come back around to offering sessions and taking on clients, but that will be a post for another time.
The website is still up and can be found at https://www.sherkphotography.com/. I plan to work towards offering more limited edition-style print releases in the future rather than leaning on the print-to-order system that the website uses. That works wonderfully for clients and big sessions, but I want to have a higher quality, more focused product to offer for special prints. I'll post more about that another time if plans come together.
In the meantime, if you know anybody with a great piece of property, send them my way! I'm looking for local places where I could shoot if the weather and lighting is looking good. In particular, the western part of Marshall County has a lot of great landscapes and features, but I don't want to trespass on anybody's property, no matter how good the shot might be.
Thank you all for your support!
