What a great time we had yesterday with Jacqui, Rey, and (the goodest of the boys) Max! This is a spot I’ve always had on my list to explore and find some creative spots to take portraits. We managed our time wisely and caught the sun perfectly as we worked our way down towards the water. Thanks for driving so far and embracing the hour of bitter cold to get your photos taken! Lots has been going on lately behind the scenes! I entirely switched to Sony camera gear. Alongside I’ve been constantly fighting short daylight, cold weather and steady rain. Within the coming weeks I’m hopeful to produce more content, so stick around 🙂

Burrowed in a tree hollow sits a “greater knapweed”. In the early medicine days, the plants seeds and roots were commonly used in ointments to treat injuries. The setup for this shot was near perfect and allowed for a warm tone and a sharp contrast that really makes the flower pop. Not to forget the ideal positioning of light illuminating the subject.

Spruce, a familiar type of conifer in the north-east. These trees tend to produce these flexible cones twice a year. The hotter the temperatures, the more cones are likely to produce in high demand in order to ensure generations to come. You can find these trees quite often nestled amongst the red pines that scatter the south shore in Massachusetts. Their prescense is apparent in the fact that they appear much darker, and their pine needles are tightly clustered in comparison.

A drifting leaf finds temporary residence with a view in Acadia National Park. There’s almost no rival on the east coast to what this park offers. It provides an all inclusive experience from mountains, to islands, ocean, and rocky cliffs. And most certainly, Eagle lake where this was taken. A long body of water nestling itself between two mountainsides and open skies. [Don’t forget to follow!]
