Some senior sessions go exactly according to plan... location, weather, lighting, etc..
And then there was this one. 😂
The location is gorgeous but weather and circumstance make scheduling tough and required some finagling from all involved. But we persevered, made the drive, and finally got everyone to the farm over an hour away with finally beautiful weather.
We thought the hard part was over.
It was not. 😂
Once we got all the way out there and were almost done, her mom started having car trouble. And because apparently one vehicle wasn’t enough for the universe that evening, MY car decided to join in on the fun too.
So there we were… miles from home, at a beautiful farm, with not one but TWO questionable uncooperative vehicles.
But you know what DID cooperate?
The light.
The location.
The ducks.
And this beautiful girl. 🤍
Because somehow, in the middle of all that chaos, we made these.
And looking through her gallery, I have to say it was absolutely worth it.
Next time, though, maybe we can make it home without the tow truck. 😂

Vibrant! A perfect word for Hayden's first session. From twirling her colorguard flag on the football field to glowing in a casual moment among the flowers.

A rainbow appeared in the images when I loaded them into the computer to edit. It was small and faint and I didn't even notice it that day, but her mom had mentioned to me during the shoot that with the rain that had been in the area she thought we might get a rainbow and went on to tell me that a rainbow holds a special meaning for her. It gave me goosebumps when I noticed that small bit of color when I sat down to edit. Here’s to chasing dreams, colors, and rainbows ahead!

Senior pictures should feel like you. And for this session, that meant the lake, his truck, and one seriously good Tennessee sunset.
We photographed right at his family’s lake house, using a place that already holds memories. Relaxed, personal, and completely his style.
The truck by the water as the sun dropped behind the lake? That was the shot.

There is something so timeless about a simple white dress, golden light, and a field full of flowers. This was my first time photographing Ainsley, and she made it look effortless and was completely relaxedfrom the very first frame. beautiful!

The James girls... I've had the privilege of photographing these sisters for years, and seeing how much they've grown since our last session is both beautiful and bittersweet. Thank you for continuing to trust me with the memories

I love flower sessions. Ashlyn was so fun. The best part for me, though, wasn't just the images. It was remembering that years ago, I photographed her as a baby and here she is all grown up. Getting to see families come back through the years is one of the greatest privileges of being a photographer.

There is something about a flower field at golden hour that never gets old. Maybe I should do these every day. OH and DANICA, is gorgeous!
