In 2016 I took this photo standing beside my all time senior photographer crush in the industry. That mentorship changed my business and made it what it is today. She helped me see my worth and helped me truly understand how numbers work to be profitable in this business. That next year I tripled my income from Vanderbilt and I never looked back.
Yesterday, I read that mentor is hanging up the camera and closing her business and my heart sank. Not because she was moving on to other things, but the mere fact that she has been in this business so much longer than I have.
When I attend conferences or events I am usually the oldest one in the bunch, and the person who has been in business the longest.
So when my mentor announced she was on to the next stage I started to question when mine might be ( insert anxiety here lol)
I truly love what I do. I love the people. I love the stages in life I am blessed to be a part of. I love watching the kids I use to photograph at elementary school become seniors and brides ( and grooms), the parent stages and the graduations. All of it. I truly feel so blessed to get to come back time and time again.
So for now you can't get rid of me just yet :) but I am really grateful that I still have the drive and ambition to see this through and that I look forward to seeing ALL of you each day!
What is that saying, age is just a number :) Thank you for supporting my little dream.
