When we first met this sweet family, they were dreaming about a little girl they hadn't even held in their arms yet.

Now, here we are, watching that same little girl wrap her arms around her mama, love on her baby sibling already, and completely steal the show with those bright blue eyes and that precious smile.

One of the greatest gifts of this job is getting to walk alongside families through so many chapters of their story. From maternity sessions to newborn snuggles, first birthdays, family milestones, and now baby number two, we've been honored to watch this family grow. Somewhere along the way, they became much more than clients—they became some of our favorite people.

And can we talk about Everly for a minute? She is absolutely beautiful, full of personality, and so very loved. You don't have to spend more than a few seconds with this family to see it. The way her parents look at her, the way she melts into her mama's arms, the excitement they all share for this new little one joining the family... it's the kind of love that makes our job easy.

To Mom and Dad, we are so excited for you as you prepare to welcome your newest blessing. Watching your family grow has been such a privilege, and we can't wait to meet the newest little member of your crew.

At Maria Latham Photography, one of the things we value most is building relationships that last far beyond a single session. We love meeting families during pregnancy, celebrating newborn days, and then continuing to tell their story year after year. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing familiar faces walk back through our doors and trusting us with another chapter of their journey.

And trust us... this next chapter is going to be beautiful.

Continuing to shoot through the day, prep sets and then home in the evening to try to get files moved and safely stored and a few previews shared from the week.

Many of you are waiting on proof galleries. The next time I have a significant time at the computer is Saturday. My hope it to deliver everyone's proof galleries on that day. There are also galleries to edit as well. Thanks for your continued patience as we try to create as many amazing memories and photos with you as we can.

Shot a few of our Andy's Room session promos today with sweet two-year-old Lizzie! Can't wait to finish up all the tweaks to the set and start shooting these. There are still spots open.

Shooting our "indoor pool" session promos tomorrow and hope to release those asap.

AND got our last prop for our baseball sessions today and will shoot promos asap for that so those can be released. I can't wait to share the cute things we have for your kids for summer!

Some little girls dream of being princesses.

Ava came in and became one.

For her annual birthday session, this soon-to-be four-year-old chose a purple princess and ballet theme, and she absolutely sparkled from beginning to end. From ballet slippers and bouquets to twirling in her gown and flashing those sweet smiles, she brought so much personality to every moment.

Watching these little ones grow year after year is one of the greatest joys of what we do, and Ava's fourth birthday session was every bit as magical as she is.

Families don't always begin in the same chapter, but the best stories are the ones that keep growing.

This was our first time meeting Abigail and Emma after photographing Brittney and little JD over the years, and it felt like we'd known them forever.

Between the lavender blooms, golden evening light, and JD keeping everyone entertained, this session was full of the little moments that make a family uniquely theirs.

Abigail's sweet smile, Emma's quiet confidence, and JD's curious spirit each brought something special to the evening. And right in the middle of it all was Brittney, soaking up a summer evening with the three kids she loves most.

There was laughter, patience, sibling sweetness, and the kind of love that doesn't need to be loud to be seen.

We are so thankful to spend our evenings documenting stories like this one—because years from now, these images won't just be photos in a lavender field. They'll be reminders of this season, these ages, and this chapter of their family's story.

Summer has hit full swing with both flower fields and lavender fields overlapping throughout the last couple of weeks. I love the variety in both the fields and how one feels soft and warm and the other feels bright and vibrant. I love that energy in both is so peaceful and that I get to call this "work" and these places my "office".

Starr showed up in the most yummy butter colored two piece set that was perfect for her and her laughter and smiles remind us why and how much we love her! You cannot be in a bad mood around her because she is like standing in sunshine!

So many amazing previews to share. We shot a lot of sessions last week and have a lot more to go this week -- along with setting up the studio for our summer studio sessions.

But for now, let's talk about this adorable family who drove out to the lavender field with us to do some family photos and photos of their adorable little daughter. She took a minute to warm up to us, but when she did, she had the sweetest little smiles for us. I'm not sure how they are going to pick their favorites from this session. It was such a fun discovery to find out that we knew so many of the same people as we stood talking after the session. I love when the world becomes smaller through conversations.

The lavender field is ALWAYS one of my favorite places of the summer. I look forward to these two weeks of time -- even the two hour round trip drive there and back -- so much each year. Not only is the lavender beautiful and peaceful, the owners are amazing as well and it's like getting to catch up with family that you haven't seen in a year. We are so thankful to have met the owners of Sweet Honey Lavender Farm, LLC and for our time with them each year.
