That's how long photography has been part of my life.
In 2009, my kids were little, our budget didn't leave much room, if any, for professional photos, so that summer I bought my first hobby camera and decided I could take them myself. I've always loved photography and videography (my parents can confirm that I've been documenting life since the days of home videos ๐), but that camera sparked something that would become a lifelong passion.
Over the years, photography has been one of the few constants in my life. Through raising a family, building careers, working multiple jobs, and navigating all the different seasons life brings, I always found my way back behind the camera.
I've learned from talented photographers, made plenty of mistakes, celebrated successes, and continued growing with every session and every client. The journey hasn't always looked the same from year to year, but my love for photography has never changed.
In February of 2023, I made the decision to fully invest in that passion. I upgraded to professional equipment, officially re-established my business, and committed to building something that reflected the years of experience, learning, and heart that photography has given me.
The older I get, the more I realize how quickly time passes. The little things we think we'll always remember somehow fade with time. The way your child smiled at a certain age. The excitement of an engagement. The laughter at a family gathering. The everyday moments that later become some of our most treasured memories.
Photographs give us something to hold onto when time keeps moving forward.
