I’m Becca Barrett and I’m a California-based photographer. I was born in San Francisco, raised in Liverpool, England; al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia; and Concord, California. I just graduated from UCLA (GO BRUINS!!!) and I am now back living in the Bay Area. I’m 28-year-old photographer, daughter, sister and friend. WE ARE GETTING PERSONAL OVER HERE:

I was the girl who dreaded going up to the white board in English class. Proper nouns, adjectives, prepositional phrases... I couldn’t keep them straight in my head. And reading, it took me FOREVER!!!

I would have to trace each line with my finger to not loose my place and even then sometimes the story didn’t make sense.

Eventually I was told I was dyslexic. Which was a relief because I wasn’t just “dumb” anymore. But I still struggled. Until I found Harry Potter. I don’t know what it was about that book but it just captured me in the story. And I not only was I reading but I was hiding the book under my pillow with a flashlight so I could read after my bedtime.

After Harry Potter I found Ronald Dahl. Then I found books that won the Newberry awards. And after that I loved reading. It was still hard but something clicked.

Books about magic, witches, and wizards still hold a special place in my heart. So if you are a grown up Harry Potter fan check out The Rules of Magic. It will make you happy sad.

This image means so much to me. It wasn’t just a graduation photo shoot it was a celebration of Brittney and the love she has for her son.

Everything Brittney has accomplished is to give herself and her son a better life. And she does that while fighting to give everyone in her community a better life too.

Her son might only understand a little bit right now about how much his mother loves him. But when he grows up, the amount of love Brittney has shown him will knock his socks off.

You spent a lot of time sweating the tiny details for your big day. Make sure you have a photographer who will capture all that for you!
