iCandy Photography & Design

iCandy Photography & Design Portrait Photography & Design I photograph people the way they are and the interactions that happen between them. My sessions are "no-pressure sessions."

Micah Palmer (photographer) - for the families that believe that moments captured are memories that are magical to last a lifetime. One of my most favorite quotes is from Alfred Eisenstadt, one of the most prolific photojournalists of the twentieth century: "It is more important to click with the person than to click with the shutter." I love this quote because I strive to give more than just pric

eless images of your family, but to also fully connect & engage and to give each person a fun & positive experience when doing a session with me. I am constantly on the lookout for a hidden smile, a stolen glance, an inside joke being told - any interaction that creates energy while telling a story Anything real and genuine that correctly depicts the person just as they are... uniquely beautiful. I have been a professional natural light photographer for over 11 years. I love this career and each opportunity it gives me. It is one of the only careers where I can be fully authentic and let my creativity soar while creating memories for families that they can forever cherish. I cannot remember a time where I haven't left a session where my heart wasn't full and my cheeks didn't ache from laughing. Come as you are and I'll do the rest! I genuinely love my clients. I am a mom to 3 beautiful, amazing & adventurous kids plus 2 bonus kids. They complete me and they inspire me each and every day. This life can only be lived once, so why not live it to its fullest?

After 15 years of building and growing a successful photography business, I’ve made a decision rooted in conscience and integrity.

Going forward, I will not offer my professional photography services to MAGA or Trump supporters.

Photography is not neutral. It is relational. It is intimate. It is emotional labor. And I will not smile politely, create “beautiful long-lasting memories,” or profit from people who support systems that harm, exclude, or endanger others, particularly brown, q***r, immigrant, and otherwise marginalized and historically oppressed communities.

This is not about partisan disagreement. This is about ethics, human dignity, and refusing to be complicit in harm.

I refuse to associate myself or my business with people who support or excuse policies and rhetoric that dehumanize immigrants seeking citizenship, endanger marginalized communities, erode civil rights, and normalize cruelty and authoritarianism.

I am a mother raising children in this world, holding devastation and rage in my body while pouring love from my heart. I shield them from how deeply this affects me, and I continue to fight fiercely anyway. Because it is for them. For the safer, kinder, more just world they deserve to grow up and raise their future children in.

As a senior in a Bachelor of Social Work program, guided by the NASW Code of Ethics and committed to human dignity, social justice, and challenging systems of oppression, I cannot ethically separate my work from my values.

This is not me being a “snowflake” or any other name used to dismiss people like me who reject the Trump regime. This is me being brave, standing firm, and STAYING TRUE to myself, my children, and future generations.

My boundary is clear, intentional, and final. And I will continue using my voice and my work in the service of care, justice, and the people this world too often leaves behind.
