Today was a good day. We had a rough weekend with the stomach bug but it ended with the surprise arrival of this beauty into our family. She’s been here half a day, and she already needs a bath! Now to find the right name.

We’ve made a lot of life transitions in the last year and a half. And I am so proud of all of them….of all of us. But today is a day I never ever thought I would celebrate. Today they went back to school. Today my youngest joined her big brother as a Kindergartner at their elementary school. And I couldn’t be happier. Not for me, but for them. They have endured and made the best of impossible situations, and now they’ve returned to to the love of their beautiful teachers, and the rejoicing of their old (and new) friends. It was the best day.

We struggle sometimes to feel connected and a part of the community we’ve been given. But it is moments like this when ...

We struggle sometimes to feel connected and a part of the community we’ve been given. But it is moments like this when I get to reflect on the many people who have rejoiced over my kids, have blessed my babies and have encouraged my discouraged mama heart in seasons where what I had left to give, just wasn’t enough. It is beyond a privilege to get to photograph two of those people, who have been a significant source of blessing for my family, who have poured their hearts and souls into loving and discipling my two kids, along with hundreds of others on a weekly basis. I get to watch watch them experience their own little miracle, to see them be blessed and encouraged and rejoiced over as they enter this new season in the life of their own family. Such a gift. And I can’t wait to meet this dynamite little baby, who is sure to change the world!

Our Story

Hi! I’m Rachel. I am a lifestyle photographer of newborns, motherhood, and families based in Plano, TX. I started my business in 2009, but have recently focused my business on what I love the most: Family. I have always loved the work I do as a photographer, but I think after becoming a mother, I have also seen the importance in what I do.

My kids are growing faster than I ever imagined. I feel every morning I awake to them having learned something new, grown another inch, or discovered more of their independence. I know that is what they are supposed to do, but gosh, it seems like the years fly by. And I want to remember so many things about these days with them... how it feels when my son reaches for my hand when walking across the parking lot, or the familiarity of my daughter playing with my necklace when I rock her to sleep at night. And I know other parents most likely feel the same way.

So when I pick up my camera and I get the chance to photograph a mother dancing with her daughter, or a dad comforting his baby boy, or siblings having a tickle fight, I feel like I am helping families remember seasons in their life that otherwise might be hazy memories. And there is something really rewarding in that!

Families are each so unique and beautiful. And I love helping each family celebrate who they are by creating tangible memories and treasured artwork for their home through photography.
