What better way to enjoy Labor Day weekend than with live music, delicious food, great weather, and an incredible community atmosphere at Winnekenni Castle!

The afternoon was filled with fantastic music, starting with Three At Home, followed by Danielle Miraglia and The Glory Junkies, before Julie Rhodes closed out the afternoon with an incredible performance.

Of course, no concert is complete without some great food!

Boston Barbecue, Castle Road Cutlets, and Nice Ice Baby kept everyone refreshed, happy, and well-fed throughout the afternoon. If you haven’t had the opportunity to try them yet, I highly recommend checking them out for your next event. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Events like this are a great reminder of what makes our community so special. Sometimes, the best moments are the simple ones: good music, good food, beautiful weather, and good people coming together.

As summer comes to an end, take a moment to slow down, enjoy the people around you, and appreciate the memories being made. The best is always yet to come.

On August 31, 2026, the Atkinson Fire Department held a special push-in and ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the arrival and official placement of its new Engine 1 into service.

The ceremony began with opening remarks from Fire Chief Murphy, followed by remarks from Selectman and Fire Department Liaison Greg Spero. Attendees also heard about the history of Engine 1 and the importance of the department’s newest apparatus from Captain Jeff Douphinette.

Following the remarks, members of the Atkinson Firefighters came together for the traditional push-in ceremony, working together to push Engine 1 into the station and officially position the apparatus for service.

Atkinson Selectman and Fire Department Liaison Greg Spero then officially placed Engine 1 into service with a radio call, marking an important milestone for the department and the community.

The ceremony concluded with members of the Atkinson Fire Department, Selectman Spero, and others participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the new Engine 1.

Those in attendance were also able to enjoy refreshments and a beautiful celebratory cake as everyone gathered to recognize this exciting addition to the Atkinson Fire Department.

Boston 25 visited Haverhill on August 14, 2026, as part of their 2026 Zip Trip Tour, and what a fantastic morning it was!

There were so many wonderful local vendors, delicious food, great conversations, and plenty of smiling faces. It was a beautiful opportunity for the community to come together, showcase local businesses, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

W. L. French Excavating Corporation, along with family and friends, took part in Richard Cannata “Mr. Fix It’s” final procession. Construction vehicles from throughout the region lined up in the parking lot of Square One Mall, where cranes were positioned with American flags hanging overhead. Many people gathered along the procession route as the vehicles traveled through the parking lot before continuing to Revere for church services.

Outside the church, Action Emergency Management displayed an American flag from their aerial ladder in honor of Cannata, creating another powerful tribute as family and friends gathered to remember “Mr. Fix It.”

It was a moving final farewell and a powerful tribute from the community to someone who clearly touched the lives of many.

Veterans from Haverhill, Massachusetts, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran (Purple Heart Recipient) laid roses and wreaths at six memorials throughout Washington, D.C., honoring our nation’s fallen veterans in recognition of Purple Heart Day.

One especially moving moment was laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. The solemn ceremony honors unidentified American service members who made the ultimate sacrifice, with the Tomb Guards standing watch 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Snow, sleet, rain, and heat.

It was truly an amazing, humbling, and moving experience a powerful tribute to those who gave everything for our freedom.

Never Forgotten. Always Honored.

Leading up to Purple Heart Day, two veterans one from the U.S. Coast Guard and one from the U.S. Army National Guard took time to honor their fellow veterans by laying roses and wreaths at two significant memorials in Washington, D.C.

Overlooking the nation’s capital, the Air Force Memorial honors the men and women who have served in the United States Air Force and its heritage organizations. Its three soaring stainless-steel spires rise dramatically into the sky, representing the flight and spirit of the Air Force and the courage of those who have served.

The memorial is a powerful place to pause and reflect on the generations of airmen and women who have dedicated their lives to defending our nation.

Located at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery, the Women in Military Service for America Memorial honors the women who have served in and supported the United States Armed Forces throughout American history.

The memorial recognizes the courage, dedication and sacrifices of women who have answered the call to serve, while preserving their stories and contributions for future generations.

Standing at these memorials and watching two veterans lay roses and wreaths was an incredible honor.

This was more than simply visiting memorials. It was a tribute from veterans, for a moment to remember those who served before them, honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and show respect for everyone who has worn the uniform.

As Purple Heart Day approaches, moments like this serve as an important reminder that the sacrifices of our veterans should never be forgotten.

Leading up to Purple Heart Day, two veterans — one from the U.S. Coast Guard and one from the U.S. Army National Guard a Purple Heart recipient took time to honor and remember their fellow veterans by laying roses and wreaths at several of Washington, D.C.’s most meaningful memorials.

Among the memorials visited were the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Korean War Veterans Memorial, each serving as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by generations of Americans.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, commonly known as The Wall, bears the names of more than 58,000 service members who died or remain missing from the Vietnam War. The long black granite walls create a deeply personal experience as visitors walk alongside the names of those who gave everything in service to our nation.

The Korean War Veterans Memorial honors the men and women who served during the Korean War. Its 19 stainless-steel statues represent soldiers moving through the rugged Korean landscape, while the memorial’s granite wall and reflecting pool create a solemn place to remember the more than 36,000 Americans who lost their lives during the conflict.

These memorials are more than monuments. They are places of remembrance, reflection and gratitude places where veterans, families and visitors can pause to recognize the sacrifices made on behalf of our country.

Watching two veterans take the time to place roses and wreaths at these memorials was truly an incredible honor to witness and capture.

It was a powerful tribute from veterans, for veterans honoring those who served, remembering those who never came home, and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Leading up to Purple Heart Day, two veterans and volunteers spent time honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice by laying roses and wreaths at several memorials throughout Washington, D.C.

Their first stops included the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial and the World War II Memorial, where they took time to learn about the history and meaning behind each site, walk through the memorials, and pay their respects to the veterans who gave their lives in service to our country.

The U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial honors the Marines who have given their lives defending our nation and is famously inspired by the iconic flag-raising at Iwo Jima.

The World War II Memorial honors the 16 million Americans who served in the U.S. armed forces during World War II and commemorates the more than 400,000 Americans who died during the war.

At each memorial, the veterans paused to reflect, remember, and honor those who never came home.

It was truly an incredible honor to capture this experience and witness these veterans taking the time to ensure the sacrifices of our fallen are never forgotten.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Veterans from Haverhill, Massachusetts a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran a Purple Heart recipient laid roses and wreaths at six memorials in honor of our nation’s fallen veterans in recognition of Purple Heart Day.

Their journey included stops at the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Air Force Memorial, and Women’s Veterans Memorial, along with a moving visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

At each memorial, they not only laid roses and wreaths, but also took time to pause, reflect, pay their respects, and take in the significance of these sacred places.

It was an incredible and deeply moving tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
