"Remnants of Muses Past"
Photography + Digital Manipulation 2014

This was supposed to be a part of an art series that I may never finish.

Art is probably not supposed to be explained but in 2014 I had pushed all my friends away and didn't talk to them but I still had an entire computer full of photos I had taken of them over the years. It was strangely haunting, their eyes staring into me, zoomed in, as I edited old photos. I thought that the relationship I had with the people I'd taken photographs of was weirdly more intimate than the relationship they had with me. I'd memorized their faces and their eyes could still see me even when they weren't in my life anymore.

As time goes on, I've been more flexible on throwing out photos that don't work. Trying to fix so many shortcomings in post is frustrating and sometimes it's better to just toss out a shoot and move on.

Oh what do you know, after two years of harassment by facebook, I am actually updating this page. Did some editing experiments today in my endless pursuit of finding my style. These photos prove how much of a hack fraud I am!! Aren't we all. The actual photography is from 2012 and (most) were the unwanted outtakes. Start from the last photo for the full story.
