We spent three weeks driving through the stunning region of Andalusia, Spain. Starting in Málaga, we made our way through Ronda, Seville, Córdoba, Granada, and Nerja. The ancient streets and golden landscapes, along with Andalusia’s rich tapestry of Islamic, Christian, and Jewish heritage, provided an immersive glimpse into a crossroads of civilizations unlike any I’ve encountered. The Andaluces set the bar high, upholding deep-rooted traditions where quality of life takes precedence. It’s hard to overstate the joy of sitting at a small table on an ancient Spanish street, surrounded by family, sipping Rioja, and enjoying tapas. Their pace of life spoke to me and brought back a creative rhythm I’ve missed. Here’s a glimpse of what I captured.

I’ll be hosting Rebecca Kiger at my studio this Thursday for our second ASMP Pittsburgh Photo Talk of 2024! She’ll be discussing her special report for Time Magazine covering the impact of the East Palestine train derailment. Her editor will also be making a guest appearance via Zoom. Rebecca will share her most recent work for Time Magazine, which published as a special report a year after the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, OH. She will speak about collaborating with the people and communities she photographs and how she has been able to craft a career that includes long-form documentary storytelling. Plus, a special appearance by her Time Magazine editor via Zoom!
