No gatekeeping here! Here are 3 of my favorite parks to photograph at in Pittsburgh:

1. Allegheny Common Park West - yellow gingko trees in the fall, pink cherry trees in the spring, and the water feature/bridges of Lake Elizabeth… just watch out for the geese and be ready to edit out some goose 💩. Worth it IMO!
2. Mellon Park - a classic and solid beauty. She never disappoints with her walled garden, varying textures, and architectural interests. A photographers favorite, so be ready to high five others working in the space and be prepared to wait your turn for the prime spots.⏳
3. Frick Park - this is a large city park with many picturesque spots to choose from. My favorites are the green spaces around the environmental center, and the gatehouse area across from The Frick Pittsburgh Museum and Gardens (👈🏻 love it there too!).

Sharing some outfit inspiration and tips below for your upcoming photo session! ✨

These photos are just a few of the families who have stuck out to me over the years with exceptionally coordinated outfits! Keep in mind..

1. Textures! The use of knitted materials, tulle, corduroy, velvet, or even silky materials go a long way to elevate an image.
2. Patterns! Don’t be afraid to use them, but keep it minimal and very intentional.
3. Stay in the same tonal color family! Muted tones, cool tones, jewel tones, etc.

Let me reintroduce myself: I am Allison, known as Allison by most, Al by a few, and rarely Allie. 🙃
📸 I started my professional photography business in 2017, but have been capturing photos as a hobby since… before I can remember.
💝 Life passes by in the blink of an eye- kids change daily it seems, family dynamics shift, and sadly loved ones pass. Getting photos taken is one of the rare gifts that can freeze a moment in time.
🫶🏻 It’s such an honor to be the one trusted in delivering these keepsakes.
