Do you love your headshots? I see so many people who aren’t comfortable with theirs.

Many headshots are either too bright, too dark, or there are even crumbs left showing on the subject’s shirt.

When you get headshots with me, I will go above and beyond to make sure you are lit correctly, and that every blemish and speck is removed. You should love your headshot.

As part of my senior portrait package, my clients choose 15 photos from their session for me to edit. Inevitably, there are always a few shots I love that end up not being selected. When those shots are as perfect as this one, I can't let them go unedited.

Today, I picked up a new preset from Lou & Marks Presets, my favorite preset maker on the market. I picked up their "Hot Chai" preset. Wow, this preset added the polish and class I was looking for.

The RAW before picture should be on the left and the edited picture on the right.

The model, the composition, and the lighting were great to begin with. The preset cut my editing down to almost one click. The only additional work I did was boosting the exposure slightly, adding a radial gradient, and filling in a bit of shadow on the model's face. Done...and fire BTW!

Shot on a Canon r6 mark ii with an RF 100mm macro at f4.5, 1/250, ISO 800 with a Godox ad400 pro strobe and bounce umbrella.

Studio sessions have their place, but getting your senior outside in one of their favorite spaces is so much more fun.

I absolutely could not wait to try taking a portrait in the afternoon sun using my new magnetic variable ND filter. I was able to shoot a wide open aperture at iso 100 at 1/200 of a second using only a Godox AD 200 flash on 1/64th power. No high-speed sync. This has me so excited about the possibilities This opens up, including being able to take portrait sessions outside of golden hour. Thank you so much to and for the new Helix MagLock system.
