Meet - an Organic Salon in Emsworth, PA about 20 minutes north of Pittsburgh.

Kelly, the owner of Be Pure, was ready to ditch her outdated branding and build something that actually sets the standard for what a salon brand should look like.

This is what that looks like.

When you book a brand photoshoot with me, you’re not just getting pretty photos. You’re getting a full suite of images that capture exactly who you are as a brand and business.

What we created for Kelly’s rebrand:
✔️ Full brand photoshoot
✔️ Complete website redesign
✔️ Brand copy + brand strategy guide

So when we’re done, you’re not left guessing - you have everything you need to keep showing up and leveling up.

More whimsy please.

Having the courage fail sooner — that’s probably the biggest lesson I’d like to have learned sooner in my business.

But cheers to getting there period.

If your headshot is giving 2019 energy (or worse, elementary school picture vibes), it’s time. ✨

Basic B*tch Headshots are exactly what they sound like: simple, quick, no-fuss… just genuinely good photos that don’t sacrifice personality or quality.

This next round is getting a little upgrade. Sessions are now 30 minutes (up from 15!) with multiple backdrops and styled elements so you have options.

Dates coming soon 🎉 Spots are waitlist-only

I forget that picking up the camera can be just for me. I think this is true for lots of artists/creatives who own a business doing something that is their art or adjacent.

It even happened when I taught art. But lately, I’ve been experimenting both in the shoots I’m doing for my clients and personal random shots.

Here are some of the experimental photos I’ve taken over the past couples along with photos not so experimental but make me happy lol.

Giving it the good old college try in business. Or are you really?

Hot take: effort does not equal results in business.

And I say that as someone who had to be humbled into remembering her own advice recently. 😅

This week on the podcast I’m talking about why so many small biz owners — myself included — are playing the wrong game with the wrong rulebook.

Today’s episode I get into how applying big-audience marketing to a small local business is quietly sabotaging your growth.

It’s something we don’t talk about enough in my humble opinion.

The real cost of bad photos isn’t what you paid for them. It’s every client who scrolled past and kept going.

If you’re a product-based business, your photos should be doing the selling for you.

I’ve been working with Bakermaid since last year to help them build a catalog of images that reflects the quality of their product and the results speak for themselves.

Beyond the obvious financial wins, working with a photographer long-term means your visuals stay cohesive and you can plan ahead for marketing campaigns.

Here’s what Surrae has to say about our work together:

“The photos have helped to solidify our professional image. In the past, we’ve often been asked if we feel we can “keep up” with the demand of relatively small regional players (in a quantity that wouldn’t be a problem at all.) Now, we’re getting inquiries from huuuuge players who don’t even question our capabilities. I fully believe that’s because of our investment in professional photography/marketing.”

For this styled shoot, we spent about five hours in their Pittsburgh studio creating images for their Petite Four Cakes - soft, elevated visuals that tell a story before a single word is read. The goal is always the same: help potential customers envision these products at their own events.

Your photos are already saying something.

The question is whether it’s saying the right thing about your brand.

After 8+ years of working with purpose-driven business owners - the women who invest in their brand don’t wait for everything to be perfect first.

Behind every image is a woman who showed up — a little nervous, maybe, but ready.

And what we create isn’t just photos. It’s a brand that finally matches the business she’s already built.

If you’re in that season - the one where you know you’re meant for more but your visuals aren’t telling that story yet - this is your sign.

Can’t wait to share new brand photos.

Big shoutout to the creative team that helped make it happen!!
