Not all photos are created equal. The time and location of your session can make a huge difference in the final images.

You’ve probably heard photographers talk about golden hour, the time just before sunset. It’s our favorite time to shoot because the light is soft, flattering, and super dreamy and romantic.

Whenever possible, I recommend an outdoor session. Natural light, especially during golden hour, creates beautiful images that simply can’t be matched by indoor fluorescent lighting.

A little throwback to Lisa and Rick’s wedding. One of my favorite things about weddings is how strangers will go out of their way to make the day special. While we were down by the river taking photos, some kind people let us step out onto the docks so we could capture a few really cool shots on the water.

Hey there, it’s been a while!

I took a bit of a break from posting on social, but that doesn’t mean I stopped shooting. Recently, I’ve been getting back into film photography, and it’s honestly brought back my love for photography in a big way. There’s just something about loading the film, planning out each shot, and then going into the darkroom to develop everything that feels so cool.

I think at some point last year, photography started to feel more like work than something I genuinely enjoyed, so it feels really good to have that spark again. While I don't get to play with chemicals during the digital process, I still love the rhythm of shooting, reviewing, and editing. Film has definitely taught me to be more intentional and in the moment when it comes to shooting.
