the friels 💖 ✨

08.28.26 was long awaited, but well worth the anticipation!! lexie and nick had been dreaming up and planning their garden party wedding at hartwood acres for the last year and a half, and what a wonderful celebration this day was! they had near *perfect* weather (especially for pittsburgh!) : 80 and sunny, only a touch of rain in the morning before all the festivities began, and it was like these two were legitimately glowing all day. 🥹 a morning of eager excitement getting ready flowed into a beautifully emotional ceremony in the afternoon, and that led into a delicious bbq dinner and absolute BLAST of a party dancing into the evening! l + n are two of the sweetest, down-to-earth people, and what an extra treat getting to discover that both of their families are equally as wonderful. thank you as always to the fantastic vendors that made this day so special…it’s always an honor getting to work with so many talented folks! special shoutout to Sarah Puliatti Thomas Photography who shot alongside me (and helped my 8 month pregnant self along 😂) she is incredibly gifted as a photographer, lover of people, and in general a wonderful friend to have in your corner.

tyler + cameron brought a perfect blend of elegant and fun to the (quite muggy) but fun morning we spent together at hartwood acres! we had much of the park to ourselves which was a pleasant surprise…and it allowed us the freedom to have a nice, unhurried wander around. i’ve been loving the amount of engagement sessions i’ve had lately, it gives such a great opportunity for me to get to know you + your partner better - especially if we’re working together for your wedding day! plus it gives the opportunity for a fun, unique lil’ date for y’all 😃

katelyn + jack 🥂

i thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend the day with these two and all of their loved ones! k + j started off with a slow, quiet morning getting ready with close friends before transitioning into an absolutely stunning, joyous church ceremony filled with some really excellent music selections (e.g. katelyn walked down the aisle to edelweiss 🥹). in true pittsburgh wedding fashion, they had a brief cookie table reception at the church before heading over to the north side for their cocktail hour + dinner at the lovely Museum Lab | Pittsburgh Creative Museum and Children's Museum of Pittsburgh. they even had a family friend transport them over in their vintage rolls royce, how cool is that?!

Emilee | Pittsburgh Wedding Planner, The 1978 Collection, and Summer 🌼 Kindred Flower Farm totally crushed the decor and florals, and created an atmosphere perfectly fitting of a lovely summer evening! twilight turned to dusk and the kids and adults alike let loose and had a blast dancing away. it was a day perfectly representative of k + j, who they are, and what matters to them. as always, what a gift getting to capture couples who love to be themselves, together!

when your couple says: “we’re thinking romantic, dreamy, and intimate” as the feel for their engagement photos…what a treat! one of katie’s favorite movies is pride and prejudice, so we snuck in some of those vibes too. 🤭

had tons of fun roaming around hartwood acres with katie and brayden for their (first ever!) shoot together. they’re high school sweethearts and it was so precious to see a couple with such tenderness toward each other even as the years have passed!

catherine + david 🤍

would you believe it if i told you that this wedding was planned and came together within the span of just one week?! for as hard as it is to fathom, the fact that this wedding day happened as it did is such a testament to how fiercely loved and cherished these two are by their families and their community! after a sudden cancer diagnosis came into the picture, catherine and david agreed that they wanted to enter this new and difficult season of “in sickness and in health” as a married couple, and decided to move their september wedding to this past weekend. the sheer fact that their main goal was simply to be married, rather than getting to experience the original wedding day they had planned is such an indicator of the depth of their relationship. what a special treasure it was to witness such an important day for two people who are truly beautiful inside and out. i know this one is gonna stick with me for a long time, and oh man i can’t wait to share more!

they’re all individually tagged as well, but i want to also give an ENORMOUS shout out to all of the vendors listed below who gave their very best even with such a short turnaround time and made this day possible. you guys are meant to be in this industry, and it shows! thank you for treating this couple and all the other couples you have with such love and attention. i’m honored to work alongside you!

if i had two words to describe m + j’s evening i would definitely choose romantic and fun!! starting off with an elegant first dance with these two and then leading into dinner and dancing the night away…it was absolutely perfect!
