what’s your “why?”
from google, a “why” is: “what inspires you to take action”
simply put, it’s the reason you do things. it can be big or small. meaningful, or not so meaningful. really anything.
this is my why. for those of you who don’t know, that’s my dad. my dad was the one who got me my first photoshoot. he helped me make my business cards. he helped me advertise and print flyers (lol I don’t recommend making flyers for sessions) he basically inspired me to do photography.
when my dad passed last January, i wanted to quit photography. no reason why, i just did. so i took a break. i talked with and watched other photographers and creatives put their work out there and it really inspired me.
as a photographer, i get to capture peoples memories. (i know that sounds cliche but it’s true) people TRUST me to photograph their special moments that they will have forever because it was caught on camera. when i pick up my camera, i’m not thinking about what’s gonna be the next magazine cover, or how i can take a photo that will get tons of engagement on instagram. i pick up my camera with the intention to capture the moments of you, and make those moments timeless.
some people don’t want their picture taken because they don’t look good, or they didn’t get ready this morning, or they're awkward in front of a camera, (guilty! 😅) but sometimes photos are all we have to look back on. sometimes photos are all we have to remember a special memory with a special someone.
so that’s my “why.” i want to give you memories to look back on when that’s all you have, a memory. to share your memories with someone special. to pass your memories down. to make you HAPPY! :)
whew, that was a long caption lol. but if you take anything from it, just remember that photos are special. your memories that you’re creating right now are special. so whether it’s by hiring a photographer, or just taking out your own phone, take a photo. of everything and anything that makes you happy. that makes you sad. anything that makes you feel something.
