Take a look behind the scenes of one of our newest productions — the WPIAL Insider Roadshow!

Built with the energy of a College GameDay-style show, the Roadshow travels to high school football communities across Western Pennsylvania, featuring a large panel of football minds, special community guests, and plenty of school spirit. Students, cheerleaders, band members and fans become part of the atmosphere throughout the show.

On the production side, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to bring the Roadshow to life.

🎥 A 10-foot camera jib serves as our primary camera
📹 2 PTZ cameras provide additional angles around the set
🎙️ 6 broadcaster headsets keep our entire panel connected
🎧 Dedicated audio return and program return for the broadcast team
🚐 Our production van serves as the control room for the entire show
🏈 And the centerpiece — a massive 14-foot broadcast desk, transported and built on a flatbed trailer that doubles as our stage

🎬 Here’s a look at what goes into making it happen.

We’re almost halfway through the 2026 football season! 🏈

From battling rainstorms (and losing a little equipment along the way) to enjoying some picture-perfect football weather, it’s already been a season to remember!

Here’s a look at a few frames from behind the scenes and across our fall productions, including WPIAL Insider Roadshow, Thursday Night Primetime, Steelers High School Showcase, and D3 College Football.

Plenty more football to come! 🎥🏈

Well… for the second week in a row, the rain has found our cameras.

Just eight days after severe storms toppled equipment, and totaled one of our camera kits, flash flooding hit Washington & Jefferson’s Cameron Stadium this afternoon and the water rose incredibly fast.

Within minutes, the field was completely flooded. The rushing water toppled a set of scaffolding and submerged the replacement broadcast camera we had just put into service after last week’s damage. Unfortunately, we’re now down another complete camera kit — body, lens, monitor, wireless system, zoom control and tripod.

Camera cases filled with water and were swept nearly 100 yards across the field. It was unlike anything we’ve ever seen or experienced on a production.

On the opposite sideline, our crew trudged through knee-deep water carrying equipment cases to higher ground, helping us avoid even more damage.

Most importantly, this happened during halftime in our coverage, giving our crew time to get themselves and as much equipment as possible to safety. The game was ultimately cancelled.

Needless to say, the 2026 football season hasn’t exactly been kind to us so far.

Here’s hoping for some better weather soon… because we’re running out of cameras and equipment. 😅🌧️📹

It’s not always sunshine and rainbows during our broadcasts! Yesterday, Mother Nature decided the premiere of our new WPIAL Thursday Primetime broadcast needed to wait just one more week. Our end zone equipment took the brunt of 85mph front line winds during one of the worst storms our crew has ever experienced. This unfortunately caused some major damage to some crucial equipment. Luckily for us, our crew was able to pick up the pieces and find solutions to get by for the rest of the 2026 football season!
