I got connected with Peyton and Andy through our mutual friend (bless her for that 🙌), and wow—these two are just the sweetest. Their little guy was a total dreamboat, all snuggly and sleepy and giving me major heart-eyes the whole session. 🥹 My heart could barely handle it. Welcome to the world, tiny dude—you hit the parent jackpot. 🩵

It’s ALWAYS an honor when I get to document any moment in your story — whether it’s a brand-new tiny human entering the world, a cozy family session, a 100th birthday bash, or anything in between.

But when it’s dear friends who trust me with their memories? Whew. Extra special. 🥰

And let’s be honest — I always get pre-session jitters, but photographing friends hits different. The pressure is high because, uh… I also need them to still like me afterward 😂 And obviously, I want them to LOVE their photos!

Forever grateful for the honor and the nerves — they mean I care. 🤎📸

Okay, I need to gush about this awesome family for a sec. Kyle and Ellen are some of the dearest friends we will probably ever have. They just *get us*. Being with them feels so easy. Ellen and Jon share the same calm, steady energy, and Kyle and I are basically cut from the same extroverted cloth — it’s just a recipe for us all to be good buddies 🫶

There’s the deep chats about parenting, God, marriage, politics, and everything in between… and then so many laughs 😂🫶 They were our besties while they lived in Pittsburgh, and even though they’re far away now, we still talk all the time and make trips to see each other.

So, so grateful for them, their friendship, and the way they love our family so well. 🥰

I drove out to Indiana, PA to hang with Rachael, Nick, and little Peyton and honestly… it was the best morning. 🍂

Front-porch swinging, couch snuggles, toddler giggles, a snack break (or three) — just real life at home with people who adore each other. My favorite kind of session. 🥲

Nothing fancy, nothing posed to perfection… just a cozy fall morning and a family being themselves. And I feel really lucky I got to document it for them. 🫶

Can we do every session like this, please?

I’m really good at disappearing for a couple months and reappearing a bit later.

I have so much to tell that I don’t know where to start.
I could talk about our sweet boys and how homeschooling them this year has been a gift.
Or how I have been less busy with photography than the usual October and how it’s giving me a complex. BUT how I could also say that the Lord knows 🥲
He knew that we would need to travel to Wisconsin for a funeral.
And how my husband would have to travel more than usual.
He knew that I would have a miscarriage and need time to sit and process and heal.
He knew that I would need a slower schedule and time to snuggle the boys and extra time with friends. He knew it all & I’m grateful. 🥲

Here’s the thing: you don’t have to know what to do in front of a camera. That’s my job. I’ll guide you with easy prompts and gentle posing, but I’ll also step back when something sweet unfolds naturally (with the occasional “oh my gosh, this is TOO cute” from me).

Your only job? Relax, enjoy each other, and let me capture it.

And no, I won’t make you look smaller—but I will pose you in ways that flatter YOUR body and make you feel like the best version of yourself. 🫶

Sometimes birth is fast.
Other times, it reaches deep and asks for every single ounce of strength you have—plus reserves you didn’t even know existed.
This was one of those births. Slow. Hard. Long. Even for her third baby (and if you know birth, you know third babies have a mind of their own 🤪).
She dug in, she stayed, she fought for every breath and every push. An absolute rockstar. 💪
And this guy? The hand-squeezer, the encourager, the steady anchor in the storm—he deserves his moment too. ☺️

✨the teeniest little ray of sunshine✨☀️

Picture this: I photograph a maternity session, we part ways laughing, “could be a day, could be a month!” Neither of us realizing that just 30 hours later, labor would kick in and baby girl would make her speedy debut 🫠🫠🫠

I had just sat down at my kitchen counter with a snack when texted that baby “might be arriving” that night or the next day. Forty-five minutes later, her husband calls to say things are moving fast. I grabbed my bag, bolted out the door, and made it to the birth about 20 minutes before she arrived.

She came early. She came tiny (I mean just look at the size of her head compared to the midwife’s hand!). And she needed some extra care in those first days. But we are so, so grateful for her safe, swift entrance into the world and the gift of her precious little life. 💛
