💗 Meet Whitney — The Inspiration Behind My Complimentary Pink Warrior Sessions💗

Whitney was one of my sweet former students when I was a school teacher, and her story is the reason I began offering complimentary portrait sessions to breast cancer survivors.

At just 22 years old, Whitney was a single mom to an adorable 2-year-old little boy when she discovered that she had breast cancer.

When I heard her news, I reached out and asked if she would allow me to create some beautiful portraits of her before she began her treatments.

She was excited, and we had so much fun together creating her portraits. We laughed, talked, played dress-up, and for a little while, she got to put the diagnosis aside and simply enjoy being Whitney.
When she saw her portraits, she was in tears.

She told me how grateful she was to have that day—to be pampered, feel beautiful, and have a little time where she didn't have to think about cancer.

That day meant so much to her… but honestly, it meant just as much to me.

It was an honor to give her that experience, and it made me realize that this was something I wanted to continue doing for other women facing their own breast cancer journey.

That's how my Pink Warrior complimentary sessions were born. 🎀

Today, I'm incredibly happy to share the rest of Whitney's story…
She is cancer-free! 💗

And that sweet 2-year-old little boy? He now has a beautiful little sister, and Whitney is happily married and enjoying her beautiful family. 🥰

Her story will always hold a special place in my heart.
And every time I photograph one of my Pink Warriors, I think about Whitney and that very first session.

Sometimes a portrait session is about so much more than taking pictures.
Sometimes it's about giving a woman a day to feel beautiful, to be pampered, to laugh, to forget for a little while, and to remember that she is so much more than her diagnosis.

💗 That's why I do this.
