How do you tell 50 years of story in two minutes?

You look for wonder.

That’s what stood out to me most while making this film for Santa Cruz Guitar Company.

Not just the history. Not just the craft. But Richard Hoover’s ability to still be amazed by what can come out of a guitar after all these years.

“I didn’t know you could get that out of a guitar.”

That line says everything.

It speaks to the mystery, the resonance, the teamwork, and the care behind every instrument they build.

Santa Cruz Guitar Company is a legacy company, but it has never felt like a story about one person. It’s a story about shared hands, shared standards, and a team choosing to build something beautiful together.
Grateful we got to help tell this piece of their 50-year story.

Before our shoot, Jena Brancart sent over pages of notes, references, lighting ideas, props, and poses.

She described wanting the images to feel colorful, bright, free, joyful, and relaxed. A little nostalgic. A little playful.

Inspired by the 90s and Y2K era she grew up in, but reimagined through the lens of her upcoming EP, *Let This Heart Be Home*.

I love when artists come to a project with a clear sense of what they’re trying to express. It makes the creative process less about taking pictures and more about translating a feeling into something people can see.
