๐ธ A SMALL CHANGE TO HOW I SHARE YOUR FAMILYโS MEMORIES
As a photographer, I have always understood the importance of protecting the images entrusted to me. But the world surrounding photography and technology is changing and AI has changed the conversation about privacy online.
Recent developments in federal courts involving AI-generated images of children have made me stop and take a much closer look at how I share your family's photographs.
โค๏ธ Your childโs safety and your familyโs comfort will always come before my social media.
Going forward, I will be adding a specific section to my client questionnaire regarding permissions on how I use images of children.
Every client will have the opportunity to choose whether or not they are comfortable with me sharing their child's photographs online, including on my website and social media.
If you choose to opt out of recognizable images of your child being shared, I will respect that completely. That said, I may still ask for permission to share non-identifying details from your session, such as:
โจ A photograph where your child's face is turned away from the camera
โจ An image where the face is intentionally obscured or cropped
โจ Little hands, feet, curls, eyelashes, or other meaningful details
โจ A silhouette or intentionally composed image where your child cannot be reasonably recognized
โจ Images focused on clothing, details, or the overall story of the session rather than your child's identifiable face
These images allow me to share my artistry and the beautiful moments I capture without unnecessarily putting a recognizable image of your child on the internet. And of course, you will have the option to say no to this as well.
And if you choose NO, there will be absolutely no pressure and no questions asked. I have several clients now who do not allow me to share their children's images and that's ok with me. Your decision will not affect the quality of your session, the images you receive, or the way I serve your family.
I will still create beautiful photographs.
I will still pour my heart into your session.
And I will still be incredibly proud of the memories we create together.
Thank you for trusting me with your families, your memories, and your children. That trust means more to me than a like, a share, or another image on my feed.
With love,
Brandy
