Happy birthday to our baby. She may technically be an adult now that she has hit 18, but she will always be our baby.
I still see you as the little 4 year old on your first birthday at home, celebrating and loudly singing and clapping along as we sang Happy Birthday to you, your little party hat slipping off to one side because you were so enthusiastic. You had been home for almost 6 months and were slow learning to trust us. My heart melted watching you, knowing that your previous birthdays had been spent in an orphanage with nothing to mark them as a special occasion.
I’m so thankful for you. You are sweet and kind. You are hardworking and responsible. You are a joy to be around and I am grateful that we get to be your family.
