Welcome to their UNHOLY MATRIMONY 🔥

No white dress. No grand entrance. No first dances. No cheesy reception activities just because “that’s what you’re supposed to do.”

Just two people dressed in black, getting married outside a gorgeous lodge surrounded by their favorite people who were ALSO dressed in black.

These two rented out an entire lodge for their closest friends and family, threw society’s wedding expectations straight out the window, and planned a day that was completely, unapologetically THEM.

Heck, we even skipped the traditional wedding portraits and made it WEIRD 😂

AND I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.

So here’s your reminder that YOUR WEDDING IS ABOUT YOU TWO.

Not your parents. Not your relatives. Not what society thinks a wedding should look like.

Your third cousin twice removed doesn’t need an invitation. Neither do your parents’ friends that you’ve met twice in your entire life.

You don’t need 200 guests, a white dress, a massive wedding party, or a reception full of activities you couldn’t care less about.

YOUR WEDDING IS NOT A PERFORMANCE FOR EVERYONE ELSE.

I say this as someone who genuinely regrets giving in to pressure from other people on my own wedding day. And it freaking sucks looking back wishing we’d stood our ground on certain things.

So PLEASE, don’t spend thousands of dollars planning a day that doesn’t even feel like yours.

Wear black. Get married in the woods. Invite 20 people. Skip every tradition. Make it WEIRD.

Whatever makes you two happy.

And hire vendors who will support your vision and have your back every step of the way 😉

If you want to throw tradition out the window and make your wedding photos look like scenes from a gothic romance movie, DO ITTTT. I’m here for all the alternative, moody, weird, wild and random ideas you may have 🫶🏻

And if anyone tries to dampen your day I won’t hesitate to fight them 👀 no one is ruining the vibe on my watch because that will change the course and mood of the photos, and I’m not about to let that happen 😉

Golden hour, bonfires, and a little bit of holiday magic 🌲🔥✨

This family understood the assignment, and then some 😂🤍

Snacks around the fire, decorating their very own Christmas tree, and quite possibly the cutest little getaway car I’ve ever seen, complete with a tiny tree strapped to the roof😭

All while the sun was setting through the trees and giving us that ridiculously dreamy, cinematic glow.

THIS is why I love turning family sessions into little adventures. Forget standing in a line and forcing everyone to smile at the camera. Give me the chaos, the laughter, the tiny details, and the moments that actually feel like YOU.

Because years from now, these are the memories you’ll want to relive 🥹🧡

Friendly reminder as we move into the cold months!

I DO NOT want to be exposed to any possible illness you have and expecting me to be is quite frankly rude. I’ve had clients in the past get seriously mad at me for not allowing them to show up with a sick kid to my little studio.

I reschedule if you are sick at no cost. I don’t want germs in my studio especially. I do newborn sessions in there and I myself have a weakened immune system. I WILL get sick and it will affect so many other people than just me.

PLEASEEEE tell me if you or your participant is sick if we are doing a studio shoot. I will happily reschedule to a date when everyone is feeling good. Outdoors it’s easy to social distance, but in my little studio there’s no escaping airborne germs. And no, a mask won’t cut it 😂 just stay home!

Let’s try to stay healthy this winter guys 🫶🏻
