Every year they’re a little different. Their little faces change, their personalities change, and before you know it, they’re not the same little babies you remember.

It makes me smile and break my heart all at the same time.
Why does childhood have to go by so damn fast? 😭

So soak it all in. The cuddles, the little hands, the way they look at you. Because one day, these are going to be the moments you wish you could go back to. 🤍

From wide open fields and rustic backroads, to the greatest cities in the world, to mountain skylines and endless coastlines… we really do live in a country full of beauty in every direction.

Today feels like a reminder of that. The freedom, the history, the places we call home, and the little moments like this little one playing among her chicken friends.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about newborn photography is that babies just naturally fall into these poses.

They don’t.

Every curled finger, tucked toe, and sleepy pose takes patience, experience, and a lot of soothing.

While lifestyle photography captures beautiful moments as they happen, posed newborn photography is a completely different art form.

It requires training, safety knowledge, and understanding how to work with each baby at their own pace. This can take hours.

These tiny humans are only this little for a few short weeks, and it is such an honor to create artwork that families will treasure for generations.

For so long, I worked completely alone in the basement of my home building this business piece by piece. And honestly, there were times I felt insecure not having a huge commercial studio space like you see everywhere online.

But the older I get, the more I’ve realized there’s something really special about what I’ve built here. My clients get a private, comfortable experience where they can truly relax and feel at home and that means everything to me.

Now don’t get me wrong… shooting in a basement studio with 8 foot ceilings can be CHALLENGING 😂 There are definitely moments where I have to get extra creative to make my visions come to life. But I never let it stop me.

If anything, it pushed me harder creatively and taught me that you do not need the “perfect” space to create beautiful work. You just need passion, vision, and the determination to keep going even when things feel limiting.

Looking back at where I started to where I am now honestly makes me emotional. Every little corner of this studio has been built with love, long nights, trial and error, and big dreams. 🤍

So here’s a little tour of the space that has held so many memories, clients, laughs, tears, milestones, and magic over the last few years. I’m really proud of it. 🫶
