Some images are about more than what you see.

I captured this moment early one morning in Maui, during humpback whale season. Above the surface, there is grace, elegance and strength. Below it is something we can't see — an incredibly powerful animal continuing to move forward.

That's one of the things I love about bringing photography into a workspace. The right image can become more than something beautiful on a wall. It can create a feeling, spark a thought, or simply give you a moment to stop and look.

Imagine walking past this every morning on your way to your office.

**What do you want to feel when you walk into a room?**

This image of Point Betsie is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

There's a strength to it, but also a stillness. The ice and snow, that dramatic sky, and Point Betsie standing quietly against it all.

For me, it feels strong, calm and peaceful all at the same time.

And that's something I've been thinking about more and more when it comes to wall art.

We spend a lot of time choosing art based on what will "look good" in a space. But maybe the better question is:

**How do I want this room to feel?**

That's what the right piece of art can bring into a home or office.

So I'm curious — **what three words would you use to describe how this image makes you feel?**

**Sometimes the best background is the place where you do what you do.**

Not every professional portrait needs to be photographed against a traditional studio background.

For some businesses, the environment is part of the story.

Photographing someone in their office, showroom, studio or workspace can give a potential client another little piece of information before they ever meet:

**This is who I am. And this is what I do.**

The key is making sure the environment supports the person rather than competing with them.

For Mike, his design studio was the perfect setting. It's professional, but it also gives you a sense of the person and the work behind the portrait.

That's why I don't believe there's one “right” style of business headshot.

**The right portrait is the one that speaks the right visual language for you and your business.**

**Individuals → TEAM**

Different roles.
Different personalities.
Same visual language.

**Consistency = credibility.**

Sometimes professional photography isn't about one person. It's about an entire team.

These are five very different people with different personalities and different roles. They shouldn't all look the same — and I wouldn't want them to.

But when a potential patient visits their website and sees these portraits together, they should immediately feel like these individuals belong to the same organization.

The lighting, background, composition and overall style create that visual connection while still allowing each person's personality to come through.

**Consistency builds credibility.**

And before a potential client or patient ever walks through your door, those visual cues are already helping tell them who you are.

**A little bit of Chelsea on the walls.**

One of the things I love most about creating photographic wall art is seeing a familiar local scene become part of a space people experience every day.

This image of the Chelsea Clock Tower found its home in a local dental office waiting room — bringing a little sense of place and community indoors.

I create large-format photographic artwork for local businesses, offices, waiting rooms and professional spaces, and I can even create a room-view mockup so you can see what an image might look like on your own wall before making any decisions.

A great headshot is about more than a great photograph.

When someone tells me, "I hate having my picture taken," I don't immediately reach for my camera.

Instead, we slow down.

We have a conversation.

We laugh a little.

We take the pressure off.

**🎄 Christmas in July 💙🐾**

Each week during **Christmas in July**, I'm honored to share the story of a Veteran or First Responder whose life has been changed through Blue Star Service Dogs.

This week, I'd like you to meet **Dustin** and **Angel**.

For more than **22 years**, Dustin has served his community as a firefighter and paramedic. Day after day, he's responded to fires, medical emergencies, and tragedies—always putting others before himself.

Like so many first responders, the weight of that service didn't end when the shift was over.

Then came Angel.
