Someone mentioned the other day that baseball season starts next month, and it hit me—it’ll be year two without seeing Colton out there.
I still remember those early‑morning tee‑ball wake‑ups, when the biggest excitement wasn’t how hard they hit the ball, but which snacks showed up afterward.
I remember the travel‑ball mornings too—driving all over creation, from the cold bite of April to the sweltering heat of July and August.
Little League, Cal Ripken, All‑Stars… they all came, and just as quickly, they all went.
What I miss most are the conversations—the ones where he honestly believed I had the answer to everything.
It goes by fast. Faster than you think. So my advice is simple: tell your kid to step out of the batter’s box a little more often, linger a little longer, call time when they’re in the field. Do whatever you can to make it all last just a little bit longer.
As always take more pictures they will remember what you mind oneday may forget.
