This waterfall is not quite life size but it looks like you could walk into the scene! It is shown here at 48”x36” and will be framed then hung at the end of a hallway at a medical facility in E KY. It helps visitors to see larger, colorful and iconic images at the end of major hallways to help them navigate the halls.

“Between Heaven and Earth” is my selection for World Photography Day and it helps illustrate the power of a photograph, but in a very personal way what this image means to me. My former wife, Sally, and I decided to travel to Italy to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. At the time, Sally was battling stage four colon cancer and her oncologist encouraged us not to wait until the Fall, when our actual anniversary would occur, but to go that Spring while she was still here to enjoy the journey. This image was created in the village of Assisi, as in Saint Francis of Assisi. The beauty and ambience of this place is difficult to put into words, the ancient Stone buildings, the beautiful countryside, the quiet streets and the deep sense of history and Faith that seemed to permeate the place. This image is a reminder of a special journey that we shared, a journey we were fortunate enough to take when we did. She passed away just a few months later, but the memories of that trip, and especially our day in Assisi, remains very much alive in my heart. Also, in a communal sense, the metaphor of the doves remind us that this world needs peace just as much today as it did when St Francis walked these cobblestone streets.

Hay Rolls. Printing for a new installment for a medical facility in E KY. Even though I had the job of hauling hay as a teenager (hard and heavy work!) I love seeing rolls (not many bales anymore) in open fields. I never pass one where I at least want to get out and photograph them! You can take the boy out of the country but……

“Flat Lick Falls” was created long ago but is still a popular image. It was included in my second books of panoramics called “Ky Wide II” using film and a Hasselblad XPan camera. Printed here about 51x19, as requested by the client, Dr Justin Saunders, who continues the medical practice that his father, Dr John Saunders began. John chose to decorate his practice with my images quite a few years ago and now Justin wants to continue adding to the visual impact that his “eye” clients enjoy.

The Sanctuary. Yesterday, some friends joined us to view the Stephen Powell museum of Glass in Danville, Kentucky. It was a delightful experience and I couldn’t avoid shooting this close-up with my iPhone. As I looked at it this morning the word or title came to me, the sanctuary. While it is not my original piece, I’m thrilled to be able to share it with you! The National Glass Art Museum is located at 401 W Main Street in Danville.

Red door, downtown Danville, KY. Last week I was delivering a load of books to Danville and on my way out of downtown I ran across this little scene. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see things like this and capture it, even if it’s with only with my iPhone! When was the last time you were in Danville? Maybe you need to go visit there too?!

“My Father’s World” was the first of three (so far) inspirational books showing beautiful scenery around the world from my travels, combined with Scriptures, praising our Creator God. I had no idea if anyone would buy it but I knew that I was supposed to publish it. Yet, the first year it was released it sold more copies than my KY books did that year! I thought it was almost sold out but then I found a few more boxes in my storage warehouse so I promptly took a box over to My Favorite Things Hamburg in Lexington, KY) since they have been a huge supporter of my work and have sold so much of it over the years. Only $18.95. Get one while they last!

Back in stock, big time! My Favorite Things in Hamburg area is one of the nicest boutique stores in Lexington to shop and they definitely have the friendliest folks to assist you! Neither of us realized that my books were out of stock there until I suggested to a potential client to go there for a unique Kentucky themed coffee table book and they were out of stock. KY: Seasons of the Bluegrass is $44.95 and KY: Heart of the Bluegrass is $29.95.
