Yesterday, I did an installation of my work at a hospital in E KY and fortunately, I kind of got lost. While driving down a backroad, I noticed a lot of bright yellow and turned around. As I went down a driveway for a closer shot, this friendly mule came out from under a tree! What a delight he/she was and I was so glad to utilize this Jack or Jenny in the scene. I love getting lost and I love Eastern Kentucky!

My newest portrait model. Take #2. Profile shot please! We surprised each other while my wife and I were driving around the Cades Cove Loop at the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. My wife was driving so I could be ready with camera in hand but we never expected this! As we slowly turned a corner, this guy was standing about 20 feet from us, munching away on the driver’s side of our car!

“Water is the driver of nature.” - Leonardo da Vinci
While I am enjoying spending time in the Smoky Mountains chasing sunrises and sunsets, we were blessed with some rain! The streams and waterfalls have come alive again. iPhone shot.
