Spearfish Canyon catching the days last light.
i didn't get much for shots i cared for this year while in the hills, i just could not get inspired or in the mood for photography i felt like i was just capturing the same shots i get every year or that 75 million others have already gotten.

A shot from last weekends outing with Nathen Erickson .
i didn't have a lot of hope with my foregrounds working out for my sky shots but i think i was wrong. Just look at that airglow!!
The badlands area is such an awesome place with so many different compositions ava but i always seem to struggle to find those super appealing and awesome shots.
foreground was shot during the blue hour and sky shots were done after dark.
Milky way season is coming to a close so now its a mad rush to get what i can.

Badlands Sunrise.
Headed west this past weekend for some milkyway and wildlife photography and some agate hunting with Nathen Erickson Twisted Sky Studios and one of his friends.
Overall we had a pretty great weekend, got 2 nights with clear enough skies to shoot the milkyway, temps were perfect, got some wildlife and got this awesome sunrise Saturday morning going on later that day to find a descent sized Fairburn agate. Sunday on my way out i stopped off the side of the road to search some rocks and ended up finding an awesome little Fairburn with some amazing banding and another small chip that i ended up losing unfortunately, hoping the milkyways will turn out.

We came across this vast area of burnt forest where the burnt tree remains looked kinda like burnt toothpicks sticking out the ground, the orange and greens amongst the black burnt up trees really stood out to me.

Haven't been out for night pics in a while, got out the other night just south of Harrold SD. I have several abandoned locations mapped out i need to check out or have been to, this one i'd not been to yet, worked out nicely, will have to get back to this one for a sunset at some point.

8/27/26, Some unexpected storms started firing off and blowing up pretty quickly.
I was too late for some of the better cells but i saw this cell firing off and blowing up QUICK so i headed south of Pierre to see what i could get. It tried hard for a while to become something but there just wasn't enough steam.
After this there were some more cells starting to fire headed my direction and starting to put on quite the nice lightning show, I will have some of those shots later.
I did manage to get a 92 shot timelapse getting me a whole 3-4 seconds of timelapse video.😆🌅🌪
