Why is this such a big deal?

Every milestone tells a story, and maternity is one of the most beautiful chapters! 😍 These moments are fleeting, but photos last forever - capturing the love, excitement, and anticipation before your little one arrives.

This beautiful couple will be welcoming their little one in a few months, and I could not be more excited for them!! They were a blast to have in front of the camera and this mama-to-be was absolutely GLOWING. ☀️

There’s a lot of moving parts to creating photographic magic with a family.

A whole lot! 🪄🤪😍🤷🏼‍♀️👏🏼

Or maybe it’s more like fitting all the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle together, repeatedly, all at once:

- the changing light
- my camera settings
- what way the wind is blowing
- whether Mercury is in retrograde
- and many, many other things…

Yikes 😅

I think there are 2 reasons why people bother with taking photographs (or having others take photographs for them).

The first reason is that you need the photographs right now, in the present day.

You need to wrap up all of the beauty in your current season, into tangible, heart-full pieces of art…to print, display and enjoy when the days are long.

But make no mistake, it’s the second reason (which comes years ahead of where you are now) where your photographs take on a meaning that you never even realized they would…way back all those years ago when the shutter was clicked.

My goodness, how lucky are we?

To be able to keep these shimmering strands of our glorious lives, and thread them all together to tell our stories. ✨

I hope everyone’s enjoying the holiday season!! 💚 I’m thankful for all the new and old clients I was lucky enough to work with this year. This is such a special job and I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store! ✨ (Also, how adorable is this family?!)
