We arrived at 6am and sun slowly crept over the horizon giving us the most amazing light. First a soft even glow throughout the garden that slowly turned into the warm rays that pierced through the canopy and delivered to most dramatic display of what makes the world so beautiful.

Some shoots fill your memory cards, others… fill your heart!

This was exactly one of those experiences. No invoice. no bill, no charge. works incredibly hard to bring those with Down’s syndrome into a world filled with love and care and I wanted to support that story.

There’s something that happens when a dancer steps into the Desert Botanical Garden at golden hour…

The light did more work than either of us, but she did the heavy lifting, and I just had to be ready.

Last Sunday we chased the sun through the cactus corridor, found magic in the aloe garden, and stayed until the garden lit up and the desert turned purple. Three costume changes, one incredibly talented dancer, and dozens of frames I couldn’t stop admiring.

This is why I do what I do.

✨Las Noches de las Luminarias✨

The does it again with another spectacularly beautiful event!

Last week I was, yet again, honored with the opportunity to shoot photos for what I consider to be the most beautifully dense place in all of Arizona… The Desert Botanical Gardens!

With sparkling luminari-lit trails, twinkling holiday lights, musical performances, and some night time wildlife on display, there isn’t a more enjoyable way to spend a mild autumn night in Phoenix.

I’m always mesmerized by the quality and meaning behind their events and cherish every opportunity I get to help them share what they do with the world! 🙏

This was such a fun game between two high level teams that left everything they had out on the field!

⚾️Arizona CLASH Baseball⚾️

In the first set of this weekends baseball games, I had the pleasure of capturing some photos of the fierce competitors of the CLASH team!

Their coaches were intense, caring, and showed strong leadership skills that will teach these kids lessons far beyond the game.

They poured their heart and soul into this game and it shows in every photo I captured!

Over 10,000 photos shot this weekend!!!

As I go through and select the best shots from a few of the games from last weekends USSSA Toys for Tots tournament, I wanted tot take a moment to share some insight.

When you choose a professional photographer, like myself 😉, to shoot a game there’s a LOT that goes into and (just as importantly) comes out of the photos.

Here’s one example of, not only the ability of professional equipment to capture a moment but, the amount of detail that comes out of extremely high resolution.

I love being able to crop into photos and see the specs of dirt flying through the air and the intensity of emotion on players faces as they give everything they have to win!

Dedicate yourself to continuous personal improvement, you are your most precious resource! 📸⚾️

Every shoot, these kids inspire me to do more, sharpen my skills and understanding, and never be afraid of trying something new.

Yesterday I was given the opportunity to give my sports photography a little more drama! 😎

Although I’ve become completely obsessed with the action and intensity of a game in action, these moody creative shots are a lot of fun and give players a chance to express themselves in a way they can’t during a game.

It’s not how big you are, it’s how big you PLAY! 💪🏒

Just because theyre kids doesn’t mean you can’t learn something from them.

What they repeatedly teach me is that warming up and preparing for anything you want to succeed in is paramount! Before every game or event, I always run through settings and take some shots to make sure that I’m ready to catch those moments of triumph.

If you ever see me out shooting a game, come say hi! I might be getting some great warm up shots that I’d love to share. 🙏

Tough shoot, but even tougher kids!! 💪

Last Friday I asked to shoot my first hockey game and I learned a ton!

There is no messing around on the ice… you don’t nearly as much warm up time and when the ref blows that whistle l, you better be ready to go!

When the game starts your head is on a swivel the entire time trying to keep up with wherever the puck is as it darts across the ice from player to player, sometimes ending in big collisions, sharpened blades flailing through the air.

These kids pour their hearts into the fastest paced competition that I’ve seen in any youth sport yet.

I can’t wait for the next game!
