I’ve always felt, the experience of creating is one of life’s greatest gifts. What are we if we aren’t creating? Art, life, relationships, dreams.

It is always a great honor to me when artists let me come into their studio to capture their process, their story. Last year, I started working with Elizabeth Page, and I have been absolutely fascinated with her beautiful, magical world of paintings in oils and the luminous Japanese gold leaf she uses.

I was so captivated by her work that I had to have one of her pieces for my own home. Truly magical, and it has been an incredible journey with her shooting her story in film and in photography. She is beauty, inside and out.

Meet Elizabeth Page, the featured artist of Hidden in the Hills.

It has been a remarkable year of growth, expanding into new commercial projects and collaborating with companies I deeply admire. But through my busy schedule, I have found a gift I haven’t possessed in decades: space.

Space to breathe, space to think, and finally, space to revisit the personal projects that have lived in the back of my mind while I built my studio and raised my three children.

One of those projects is “Portrait of a Saguaro.” Since arriving in Arizona thirty years ago, I have held a deep love for the Saguaros. With their silent beauty from centuries of standing tall while watching over the changing deserts of Arizona.

“Portrait of a Saguaro No.004,” stands on the old Stoneman Road Military Trail in Carefree, Arizona. A dialogue between the past and present.

Witnessing Sue Bickerdyke’s creative vision up close has been one of the true highlights of my year. Sue’s artistry isn’t limited to the spaces she designs in Carefree, Arizona—from sunlit desert homes to welcoming mountain retreats, each project seamlessly blends custom interiors with thoughtfully curated art.

Photographing her work, her showroom, and the gallery, I’ve seen firsthand her dedication to elevating every artist she represents and creating environments that are both refined and deeply personal. The combination of elegant comfort and artistic expression in every space is truly inspiring.

Honored to capture the beauty she brings to Arizona’s homes and being a part of her mission to raise our Arizona community of artists to a new level. She is a true believer in the act of bringing others up so we all rise!

It’s always a privilege to step into the creative world of another artist, but capturing Carlos Page in his stunning new Cave Creek studio was a true honor. Years ago, we connected at Grace Renee Gallery, and now witnessing Carlos reach this pivotal milestone in a career spanning three decades in metal is nothing short of inspiring.

Photographing his new studio wasn’t just about documenting a beautiful space; it was about celebrating Carlos’s vision and the community of artists he uplifts—including Elizabeth Butler and more.

There’s something powerful about witnessing an artist in their element, in a space built by their vision and passion. I’m grateful for moments like these that invite me deeper into the creative world and allow me to preserve the stories behind every work.

Growing up surrounded by the arts in Chicago taught me the power of creative process and authentic storytelling. Photographing artists like renowned Kathleen Hope is where my heart sits.

Capturing Kathleen’s time in her studio was truly inspiring. Her bold, textural cement-based pieces don’t just fill a gallery—they bring a vibrant energy wherever they reside. Watching her layer pigment, marble dust, and plaster with such intentionality affirmed just how much story and emotion lives behind each of her finished works.

Every artist I photograph reminds me why I love what I do. Thank you, Kathleen, for letting me tell your story through my lens!

When magic strikes, you feel it!

Photographing Author, Michael Blake on a ranch in Rio Verde was one of those moments where everything fell into place naturally. Michael shared his stories of working with John Ford on the sets of old Western films—an experience that shaped the course of his life and inspired his new book. Together, we aimed to capture his love for the West in a way that's both authentic and timeless.

Seeing his portraits on the covers of all three issues of Images Arizona magazine that month is such an honor. Grateful to be a part of telling his story through my lens. 📸

Photographing and her incredible vintage car collection was an awesome shoot! Each car is a blend of history, art, and love—a symbol of her bond with her late husband, Clive Cussler.

From a 1902 Curved Dash Oldsmobile to a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado, every vehicle has a story, and Janet makes sure their beauty is shared with the community through charity events.

Capturing the essence of an artist goes beyond simply snapping a photo—it’s about telling their story through every detail. When I photographed Phoenix-based artist Mark Vinci for the cover of Images Arizona, it wasn’t just about portraits. It was about narrating the life and artistry of a creator whose work speaks volumes.

From the bold textures of his crushed car part sculptures to the vibrancy of high-key lighting, every shot was carefully crafted to reflect Mark’s personality and dedication. The result? A series of portraits that bring his story—and his art—to life.

Horses are more than a symbol of life here in Arizona—they're a way of life. Riders like Arizona Parker represent the next generation of equestrian excellence, blending tradition with bold, fresh energy that was fun to capture.

This unforgettable shoot ended up gracing the cover of Images Arizona magazine earlier this year—a true celebration of Arizona's passion, talent, and love for horses!

An honor photographing 100 year old Sam Baker for this month’s issue of Images Arizona magazine. A veteran, an author of multiple children’s books and a life of much more. Kind, generous, humble and full of energy! He kept up with me the whole shoot!
