Taylor + Malle’s engagement session was another reminder of how much I love getting to create in different environments.

Northern Arizona has a completely different feel from the desert landscapes we’re used to seeing around the state, and that change of scenery opens up so many possibilities behind the camera.

And that’s part of what keeps this job interesting. No two couples, locations, or galleries are ever quite the same. Every session is another opportunity to see things a little differently, play with the surroundings, and create photographs that tell a story all their own.

Jenni + Armani brought some of their favorite people from across the country and around the world to Scottsdale for a wedding that felt like one big, intimate celebration of their love. ✨

Against the Arizona desert, they filled the day with vibrant florals, warm color, twinkling lights, and personal details that made the entire celebration feel unmistakably theirs. With as beautiful as everything looked, the energy their people brought into the day was just as much a part of the story.

Because this group had PERSONALITY. The big laughs, the conversations bubbling across the room, the looks exchanged from one side of the ceremony to the other, the stories that had everyone losing it, and the kind of joy that seemed to follow Jenni + Armani everywhere they went. Their closest friends and family weren’t simply there to witness the day. They helped make it what it was.

Jenni + Armani wanted their photos to feel candid, intimate, and alive, and honestly, their people made that part pretty easy. When you put this much personality, joy, and love in one place, the story pretty much writes itself. 🎬

Stanley + Jade had a whole big wedding coming just a few days later, but first: a courthouse, their family, downtown Phoenix, and one very good pair of shoes. Obviously!

Their courthouse wedding was intimate in the best way, just the people closest to them and a little pocket of time to soak in the fact that they were officially married. After the ceremony, we wandered around downtown Phoenix, letting Stanley + Jade do what they do best: be completely themselves. And with personalities this big, there was PLENTY to photograph.

Laughing, roaming the city, reaching for each other, showing off the shoes (as one should), nothing overly planned, just the two of them being newlyweds.

And that’s what I love about the moments in-between. They may not feel monumental while they’re happening, but they often tell you the most about who people really are.

Stanley + Jade are two of the kindest, most fun humans I’ve had the privilege of photographing, and getting this sweet little chapter with them before their big celebration made it even more special. 🥹

The big moments absolutely matter, but I’ll always be watching for everything happening in-between, too.

Consider this your sign to make your wedding a little weird. 🤣

Bring your dog. Get the tattoo. Change into something special for the after-party. Have a drag queen absolutely TAKE OVER the reception. If it makes you excited, feels like you, or has your guests saying, “Of course they did that,” I am definitely somewhere nearby with my camera, VERY happy about it.

Some of my favorite weddings are the ones where couples make choices that reflect who they are. The traditions you keep, the ones you skip, and the completely unexpected things you add are all part of what makes the day yours.

So yes, do the thing. I promise your wedding photos will be more fun because of it!

Maybe it’s the Capricorn in me, but I’m always paying attention to the little things.

If something needs straightening, adjusting, moving, or a little extra attention before I pick the camera back up, I’m probably already on my way to fix it.

And it’s not just about making the photo look good. It’s part of how I take care of my couples. You have enough happening on your wedding day without wondering where to stand, what to do with your hands, or whether something looks slightly off. I’ll give you direction when you need it, keep an eye on the details, and step in where I can so you can stay present with your person and your people.

Because yes, I want you to walk away with photos you love, but I care just as much about making sure you feel taken care of while we’re creating them.

Tiny details? Consider them noticed.
Capricorn tendencies? Consider them useful. 🫡

From the very beginning, there was so much personality woven into this day. Jenni + Armani took the warmth of the Scottsdale desert and made it their own, bringing in bold color, playful details, and personal touches that carried all the way from getting ready to dinner under the lights.

What I love most is that every detail felt intentional, each one adding another layer of personality to the day. Everything worked together to create a celebration that felt vibrant, romantic, and a little unexpected, while still leaving plenty of room for the two of them and the people they love to be at the center of it.

And that’s the sweet spot. Your wedding doesn’t have to follow a formula to be beautiful. The best details are the ones that tell you something about the couple before they ever step into the frame.

They both understood the assignment. 🤌🏽
