? I am drawn to the Southwest and love the desert landscape where I live now.

Photography is an expression of the feelings evoked within as I explore the world around me. Connecting with nature through wildlife and amazing landscapes is exhilarating and inspiring, often taking my breath away. Making photographs is something I dream about continually to the vexation of my family. My mother, always with a camera in hand to record her own journey, is an inspiration to me. I wa

s raised in Minnesota where my family continues to live and I visit frequently. My images are made in these places as well as travel to other areas of the United States and to other countries. I have different artistry series such as the abstract art utilizing Topaz. Some of the images from the abstract series are the same images I have posted using only Lightroom. I spotted a Green Heron on the Salt River outside Phoenix and wanted to share this quiet, focused moment. The bird holds its beak out as parallel ripples guide the eye to a clear reflection, while warm late light brings out the chestnut throat and subtle green tones. Pale gold water, marsh plants, and smooth stones add scale and a gentle rhythm, making the scene feel calm and watchful. I’m sharing Superstition Mountain Desert Overlook I, a wide desert view with distant mountain ridgelines and a stand of tall saguaro cacti. In the foreground there are rounded barrel cactus, scrubby mesquite, and small pockets of yellow wildflower that pull the eye, while low layered clouds and pale blue ridges create bands of light across the valley. The scene feels open and quietly resilient, with little details that reward a closer look.
