You guys, this is a biggie for me. As I get ready to leave Virginia, I’ve been thinking a lot about the people who made this chapter of my life so special. is definitely one who did that for me.

What started as a branding session turned into so much more than that. She became my realtor when it was time to sell my home. She was the one who encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and photograph my first real estate listing when I was feeling COMPLETELY unsure of myself. I remember questioning whether I could even do it, but she never questioned my ability to deliver for her.

And when that house ended up getting multiple offers the first weekend it was listed, I may or may not have joked that it was obviously because of my listing photos. 😏😂 (For the record, I think her being an amazing realtor probably had a little more to do with it.)

But seriously you guys…she was my number one cheer leader. It really is a gift. She believed in me, and gave me the confidence to try something new when I wasn’t altogether convinced I was ready.

We’ve only known each other for a relatively short time, but somehow she became one of those people who feels like she’s been in my life MUCH longer. Something I never expected when I started this business. I thought I was building a portfolio, but what I was really building were relationships.

As excited as I am for this next chapter in Arizona, saying goodbye to people like Patrina is the hardest part for me 🥺

I’m so grateful our paths crossed, and I’m so thankful for every conversation, every session, every bit of encouragement, and every opportunity she trusted me with.

Some clients become friends, some friends become family, and she’ll always be one of the people I’ll miss most from Virginia. 🤍

You guuuyyyssss. One of the things I’m realizing as I get closer to this move is that I’m not just leaving places behind, I’m leaving people behind too.

I’ve gotten to photograph families, business owners, milestones, big moments, small moments, and so many of you became more than just names on my calendar.

Ti'Juana has been one of those clients.

Sessions like this are a reminder that I’ve been trusted with some really important pieces of people’s lives and businesses, and I don’t take it lightly.

As I wrap up my time here in Virginia, I keep finding myself feeling really grateful for the people I’ve met along the way.

One thing I’m always paying attention to during a session…does this actually feel like you?

I had someone reach out to me recently who said she was scrolling and saw one of my session posts and thought, “wow, that looks so much like Patrina…” and then realized it actually was her 😂 She said, “now THAT’S Patrina.”

So guys…that’s EXACTLY the point. Not just something that looks professional, but something that feels like you when people see it.

That’s what people connect with. That’s what builds trust before you ever say a word. That’s the focus with personal branding photography in Williamsburg, VA right now…

and something I’m looking forward to bringing with me to the Phoenix AZ area soon!

I’ve been trying to figure out how to say this without making it a whole thing…but I’ll be moving to Arizona this summer.

This wasn’t an easy decision, and it definitely comes with a lot of mixed emotions. This area, and more importantly the people in it, have been such a big part of my life and my business. You guys trusted me with your families, your businesses, your milestones…and that’s not something I take lightly.

There are so many of you I’ve worked with more than once, and seriously you guys, it’s meant more to me than you probably realize. I’m really going to miss you all.

I’m still here for now and will be finishing out the sessions I have on my calendar, and I’ll share more as things get closer. But I just wanted to say thank you. Truly guys…thank you so so much.

Leah came in for updated headshots… and to celebrate turning 40. And for real guys, she came READY. Makeup on point, outfits pulled together, props in hand… the whole thing was just easy.

We got a mix of clean studio headshots, some more relaxed ones at a cafe, and a few fun ones with her birthday moment mixed in.

Sessions like this are my favorite because it doesn’t feel forced. It just feels like you’re capturing someone as they are right now, and that’s a big part of what I focus on with personal branding photography in Williamsburg, VA. Not just something that looks professional… but something that actually feels like you.

You guys 😂 I hear some version of these before almost every session. And I promise you, I get it. I was the same way when I started my photography business 🤦‍♀️ and actually MOST people don’t realize how many places they actually need photos until they have them.

That’s something I see all the time with personal branding photography. It starts with “I just need a couple photos”…and turns into content for your website, social media, and everything tied to your business.

As a branding photographer in Williamsburg, Virginia, I help clients think through all of that ahead of time so they’re not trying to piece it together later.

This is

She’s a realtor here in the 757, and one of the things that mattered most for her session was making sure her photos actually reflected what it’s like to work with her.

She’s not stiff or overly posed. She’s approachable, relaxed, and easy to talk to. So instead of forcing something that didn’t feel natural, we planned her session around that.

We chose a home setting that made sense for her work, styled her the way she actually dresses with clients, and created a space where she felt comfortable and could be herself.

Even down to things like the 757 on the wall behind her, everything in this image was intentional and tied back to her business and the area she serves.

You guuyyysss…that’s what personal branding photography is really about. Not just taking a pretty picture.

You want to have images that reflect what it’s ACTUALITY LIKE to work with you, so your clients already feel comfortable before they even meet you.

As a branding photographer serving Williamsburg, Virginia and the 757, that’s ALWAYS my goal.

When people feel comfortable, they act like themselves.

And that’s what builds trust.

You guys…headshots and branding photos are not the same thing.

Don’t misunderstand me though! Both are professional photos, they just serve different purposes.

A professional headshot is usually a single portrait used for things like LinkedIn, websites, or speaking profiles.

Personal branding photography, on the other hand, tells the story of the business behind the person.

Branding photos show personality, environment, and the work you do so potential clients can connect with you before they even meet you.

As a branding photographer in Williamsburg, Virginia, I work with a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners who need more than just a single headshot. And a lot of times they need BOTH. In fact I recommend it 😊

They need photos that represent their brand, their business, and the experience they provide.

Both types of photos are valuable. It just depends on what your business needs.

Quiet over here lately, but in a good way.

Editing, planning, and working behind the scenes on what’s next. I don’t always show every part of the process, but I’m still here and still creating.

Grateful for the people who stick around even when I’m not posting every day.

This session really meant a lot to me.

Emma and her family made time to be together and document it, and that’s something that only becomes more meaningful as the years go by. Parents, siblings, the family dog, all in one place. Those moments don’t happen as often as we think they will.

It was such a relaxed session with the kindest people… and of course the CUTEST dog 😉 I’m so grateful they trusted me to capture this chapter for them, and I hope these photos always bring them right back to this season of life.
