What’s your favorite summer rooftop memory? 🏡

Summer, rooftops, and Brooklyn go hand-in-hand, and this session is an all-time fave of mine! 🙌🌆🪴

Any chance to let loose, have fun, and create is amazing, but I LOVE pairing bo***ir sessions with location and culture.

If you’ve ever been to NYC in summer, rooftop gardens, and photoshoots are a must-experience and adventure!

BTS: For this shoot, I spent weeks planning to find the perfect spot with a mix of city gardens & the Empire State Building as our backdrop 👑

As a photographer, when not in studio, location scouting is one of my fav aspects of putting together a bo***ir session — But takes some patience, perseverance, and trust to put yourself & creative ideas out there, find a place that lights you up & make it come to life! 📸

Happy almost eclipse day everyone. 🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌔 Thinking back to the 2017 eclipse, witnessing the conjunction of the Moon with the Sun in perfect alignment with the Earth, it would not be too much to say it was one of the most beautiful phenomenon I have ever seen in my lifetime.

Leading into the eclipse, in preparation to witness this sacred marriage of the lunar and the solar, the feminine and the masculine, it reminds me to reflect on all the ways we are no longer associating the lunar with simply the feminine, and the solar with only the masculine. We’re so much more complex than that, but sometimes it takes a massive cosmological event and coming together of the two, to remind us of our sacred wholeness. After witnessing the conjunction of the two tomorrow, it will be hard to ever forget or feel aligned prioritizing or upholding one over the other, and the importance of these astrological archetypal aspects within ourselves, in our relationships, communities, the world, and in the universe.

Celebrating the solar feminines, women capable of expressing achievement out in the public world, following her own individual sense of purpose & on a trajectory just like the sun on her own journey and quest as an individual.

Celebrating the lunar masculines tenderly caring for their children, deeply connected to their emotions, inner wisdom and depth, and somatic feelings in the body to help guide their intuition.

Wishing you all a day of rest and inner and outer reflection and transformation tomorrow and for the rest of eclipse season.

Today was a really special day where I got to come on for a brief segment of the local news and share about Kids in Focus, a program & kids that are near and dear to my heart. Prior to working on staff with Kids in Focus, I was able to volunteer with the organization as a photography mentor. Being able to volunteer with kids in my community has always been a big part of my life, and I like to give back because I know how much these programs helped and influenced me as a kid growing up. But it wasn’t until I moved to Arizona that I discovered a program that works with kids at this level utilizing the power of photography 📸💫

It’s truly remarkable the transformation that takes place the instant the kids get a camera in their hands and the opportunity to channel their energy, emotions and creativity into creating art! I’ve never seen something as special and impactful in my life & I hope to see these programs only continue to grow.

I’m so grateful to be able to work with these kids, and all of the photography mentors, and staff at Kids in Focus and to have been able to share the impact that is being made in the community while promoting the Annual Grand Exhibit Opening taking place this Thursday, April 4 from 5:30 - 7 pm at the Arizona Science Center! 🖼️🎉 It’s a free, family-friendly event all about celebrating these incredible kids, and we hope that today’s news segment will inspire people to come out and attend! 🎉📸✨

2. Prep for your Photoshoot with Grounding Rituals: Take a soothing bath with earthy essential oils like patchouli or cedarwood. Stretching prior to your session with poses & postures that encourage grounding & stability. Practice yoga poses like Mountain Pose or Child’s Pose to anchor yourself & cultivate a sense of rootedness in your body.
