Day 1- Leaving Phoenix
Flight: Phoenix- Frankfurt- Rome
We got to the Airport Really early....we thought it would be a Nightmare checking in with our TWO service dogs and NINE suitcases.
Turns out THAT part was a breeze!! CONDOR airlines accepted the dogs paperwork without issue ANNND have an unlimited Checked bags... so we were able to check all 9 suitcases!!! THANK YOU CONDOR!!!
As we were leaving the ticket counter my 23 yr old Special Needs daughter- Heaven a.k.a Mz. Heaven B! Decided to P*E HERSELF right there! π€¦πΎββοΈπ€¦πΎββοΈπ€¦πΎββοΈ
Me, being in a wheelchair had to Reset, I put down a small blanket I planned on sleeping with...on the wheelchair; say Heaven in it and had to push her myself to the nearest bathroom to change her. The staff wouldn't touch her with a 10ft pole which sucked but I understood. THANKFULLY I packed pajamas in her carryon for the night flight.
SO once sink-bathed and changed, I cleaned the wheelchair and we were off back to staff to push me to the gate....Where was my Husband you ask??? My poor hubby was holding down the Team by keeping both dogs and watching all the Carry-on bags. π€£β€οΈπͺπ½
We got to the gate and the Dogs, being their first airport/airplane experience did great! And we had calmed down amd reset!
Once we boarded we THOUGHT they would put us in a row w/ an empty chair or so for space for the dogs...buuuuuT NOPE! LOL π
We took off and Brucey, immediately was looking for a Window to put his head out of. Hahaha the the SOUND and VIBRATIIN of the landing gear coming in FREAKED HIM OUT he JUMPS into my Hubby's lap! My husband held Brucey for an hour before he calmed down enough to lay on the floor next to Jackie Boy!
Our daughter was INSTANTLY able to knockout and go to sleep! However, my husband and I were super uncomfortable for hours with limited leg space. We landed in Frankfurt and had to TagTeam holding the dogs and supervising Heaven. And eventually landed in ROME that night!!! π€¦πΎββοΈπ€£π‘π
