www.sprygallery.com Hello, I`m Eric Spry. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic 104.

You know, of the silver and black variety with the red Kodak logo? The front lens turned (not sure why) and the top allowed for plug-in disposable flash bulbs. I can remember how they smelled. The lens was not detachable so I was stuck with what it had, but no worries, I was little and the lens worked fine. I learned how to insert film (If you're under 20 years old, Google it or visit a museum). I

took pictures of Michigan ant hills, ferns, autumn leaves and a turkey who chased me because I got too close to her littlelings. I'm not entirely sure, but I think I was seven when I got that Kodak camera. What I do know is that I've been shooting pictures ever since. I eventually graduated to a DSLR and I'm still searching for alternative ways to see the world. I want to see the extraordinary in the mundane, the rhythm of creation and the patterns woven into nature. I'm inspired by the abstract. Come along and explore the world through my lens.

Labrugeira is a small village in wine country about 45 minutes north of Lisbon. We stayed in a 200 year old home that had been added onto many times. Much like Labrugeira where new homes are built directly on the ruins of the old. Streets are barely the width of a car and wind about with no grid.

After a day or two it was hard not to fall in love with this small village that shared the character of a centuries old patina’d stone sculpture.
